Shift: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Location: Greater Dallas, TX area  

 

Job Overview:

The District Quality Service Manager (DSQM) is a critical member of the Operations team. This position is primarily responsible to manage the day-to-day activities & personnel related to Purolator International business and facility to support operational, Sales and Marketing initiatives.

This specific DSQM will be responsible for directing the financial and administration activities in the South District. This position will also manage district warehouse staff functions and Warehouse billing data entry functions.

 

Requirements to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years relevant Warehouse Operations, Service and Management experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral & written
  • Courage and conviction to do "The right thing"
  • Strong personal motivation and enthusiasm, interest in and commitment to making a difference in the organization

 

Preferred Skill Requirement

  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma practices and/or certified

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible to create, design, and implement operational solutions for new or existing customers
  • Provide support that will include daily operations and project/task support
  • Must follow Corporate Guidelines as set forth by Corporate Finance
  • Development/refinement of relevant processes
  • Generate accurate and timely reporting of financial transactions (Accounts Receivable escalation via the CRR group, Accounts Payable vouchers,  branch accruals , and ops ground line haul, air/ ground and brokerage accruals)
  • Manage dock operations and personnel in regards to the processing of all shipments
  • Provide operation leadership within the US operations organization, assuming key roles as necessary
  • Lead or participate on cross-functional teams supporting Operations, Sales, and Marketing initiatives
  • Work in conjunction with the TSD personnel providing cost effective and service excellence in the ground transportation we sell to our customers
  • Look to enhance or modify existing processes to improve service and reduce costs
  • Maintain functional/industry expertise by attending and participating in industry associations
  • Provide metrics in an accurate and timely manner for assigned region and facility (e.g. warehouse productivity, transportation measurements)
  • Provide communication, as required, to Sales and other functional departments in a timely manner
  • Direct and lead service quality initiative for District Branch facilities and ensure compliance in all areas including but not limited to service quality, warehouse production, hazmat, dangerous goods, environmental health and safety
  • Improve warehouse production at district branches and ensure it meets and exceeds corporate expectations
  • Analyze dock operations and processes and recommend appropriate enhancements to improve production
  • Meet or exceed Quality Service metrics
  • Liaison between branches, customs brokers and transportation department
  • Ensure all unrated shipments are rated so that customers are billed appropriately
  • Improve customer on-boarding process by participating on project team to ensure successful launch of customers
  • Ensure programs and policies are understood and that all employees are trained properly
  • Orient new staff members to the organization and department policies and procedures; review his/her position responsibilities and expectations of performance
  • Establish work goals, objectives and standards to be achieved by team
  • Establish a cross-training program within the assigned district to cover daily operations and/or processes

 

Non-Essential Functions

  • Manage projects as assigned by the District Manager
  • Provide updates to functional leaders within Sales and Operations as required (daily/weekly/monthly)
  • Create an environment of respect and trust for resolving issues as pertains to operational and customer support
  • Accountable for all costs associated with supporting facility related activities
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager

 

Education and/ or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years relevant Warehouse Operations, Service and Management experience
  • Strong record of client service, with a mindset of assisting clients in resolving problems and finding solutions, including experience providing workable and understandable recommendations to management
  • Superior mentoring and coaching skills are a must for this leadership role
  • Strong team orientation, with a proven record of building team relationships with staff, clients and other stakeholders

  • Excellent practical approach to problem solving and issue resolution with a focus on improving the business, ensuring adherence to policies, recommending policy changes where appropriate

  • Ability to travel including driving to various work and/or customer locations within the local markets, Corporate HQ in New York and Canada

 

Working conditions under which the job is performed include, but are not limited to concentrated visual or auditory attention, repetitive movements (i.e. typing, data entry, phone activity), heavy computer work, constant sitting at workstation.
