SHIFT: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 11:30 am - 8:00 pm


LOCATION: Jericho NY (Headquarters) or NYC Metro Area


Job Summary:

The Customer Onboarding Specialist falls under our IT Division and reports into the Client Technology Solutions Manager. The primary function of this role is to formulate and define system scopes and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. 


The Customer Onboarding Specialist will use this knowledge to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. This includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary. 


This position is immersed in highly complex customer automation solutions every day, so strong customer service and organizational skills are very important. 



Experience Required in Order To Be Considered:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a related role
  • Experience working with project life cycle and project management methodologies
  • Experience in integration with and support of ERP systems
  • Must have a good understanding of business processes across most areas of business
  • Proven track record of successfully onboarding customers



Preferred Education and/ or Work Experience (not required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (or Management), Computer Science, or related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Basic understanding of transportation or freight forwarding experience a plus



Job Function:

  • Successfully onboard customers into Purolator Shipping systems:
    • Work with management team to support business system requirements
    • Consult with all internal and external parties to create the best possible business solutions and optimize business processes to maximize productivity
    • Conduit, advisor & point of escalation:
      • Customer Connectivity
      • EDI invoicing, status updates & billing transmissions
      • Label Productivity
      • Commercial Clearance electronic customs solutions
    • Ensuring effective system documentation is created and maintained to support delivery of training of staff and clients in the proper use of business system.
    • Participate in daily and periodic reviews of business systems and make recommendations accordingly.
    • Create testing criteria for user effectiveness for use during and after implementation.
    • Provide post go-live customer and internal support
    • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager

  • Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US



Working conditions under which the job is performed include concentrated visual or auditory attention, travel to local work and/or customer locations (advanced notice provided), repetitive movements (i.e. typing, data entry), high volume telephone activity, extensive sitting during work hours.
