Job Summary:

The IT Business Specialist will focus on Purolator International Client Technology Solutions Onboarding and Support.  This position is responsible for implementing Customer IT Shipping Solutions, as well as serving as a backup for monitoring the Client Technology Solutions helpdesk ticketing system and phone queue.  This person will help coordinate customer system upgrades and documentation (Knowledge Base), acting as a project team member and developing into the application’s super user.

 

The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years working experience in technical support or transportation/freight forwarding
  • Technical proficiency of PC platforms (Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

 

Job Functions:

  • Understand the basics of Project Management, for successful implementation of customer IT shipping solutions.
  • Design low, medium and high complexity IT shipping solutions based on customer requirements and Purolator International compliance standards.
  • Understand the role the ticketing system plays in Client Technology Solutions Support.
  • Report Onboarding and Support analytics on a regular basis.
  • Manage client and vendor expectations, anticipating possible issues and communicating turnaround times with reasonable delivery dates.
  • Collaborate with management team to create process improvements in Client Technology Solutions governance.
  • Act as a liaison with clients (internal and external) to resolve issues and enhance customer experience.
  • Provide end-to-end support of PI automation break fixes from identification through release to production.
  • Develop and maintain supporting documentation and training materials for users and clients for the proper use of the ticketing system.
  • Consult with user community to define and optimize support processes to reduce the average resolution time.
  • Consult with service providers and clients to create the best possible business solutions and optimize Service Level Agreement timing to maximize productivity.
  • Provide training to new users.
  • Involvement in the development and implementation of customer automation enhancements.
  • Act as liaison to cross functional groups (Sales, Operations, Client Relationship Representatives, Finance), as well as service partners.
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager

 

 

Education and/ or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years working experience in technical support or transportation/freight forwarding
  • Technical proficiency of PC platforms (Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Understanding of hosted applications, Internet connections and network interworking
  • Must have a good understanding of computer and business processes
  • Basic understanding of transportation or freight forwarding experience
