Job Summary:

The Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will lead the development of the effective and efficient completion of all elements of forecasting & planning processes for all lines of business within Purolator International (PI) including a variety of products to meet all strict deadlines around these processes. This Manager, FP&A will manage a team. 


This is a very fast paced, customer service focused department. The primary responsibilities of the Manager, FP&A is to manage the month end close process, monitor and analyze actual performance against budget, prepare weekly flash and monthly MBR with analysis in addition to partnering with business stakeholders to assist with key business decisions such as determining the root cause of revenue and expense variances along with recommendations of actions that can be taken to mitigate variances.


SHIFT: Full Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm 


LOCATION: Jericho, NY 


Experience Required In Order To Be Considered:

  • 6+ years of FP&A or Accounting experience with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Experience in financial modelling
  • Experience in financial and business analysis
  • Analytical ability, use of advanced modeling techniques and independent judgement
  • Experience in International Business including FX fluctuations
  • Experience with quantitative fact based analysis and issue based problem solving
  • Experience working with Executive level leadership to communicate, lead and manage challenging conversation
  • Experience leading teams to meet tight corp deadlines



Corporate Budget

  • Lead and generate the annual budget process for all PI lines of business as well as the 5 year Corp business plan.
  • Ownership involves developing and communicating detailed project plan to ensure communication with all key stakeholders, driving the data gathering with sales and other business leaders, data analysis / scenario modeling, alignment with Purolator International on targets and distribution of final plans to the business.



  • Provide financial insights based upon results against plan and prior year understanding key drivers to gross margin, economic factors impacting fuel and Fx as well as variance analysis on direct and indirect costs.
  • Determine the best way to illustrate our results for presentation to all levels within the PI organization.
  • Prepare monthly commentary that is used for ELT presentations and other stakeholder updates along with leading meetings with stakeholders to address any anomalies.


Annual Operating Plan

  • Active participation in the business/ strategy/ long range planning meetings that derive the content of the Operating Plan including a thorough understanding of the company’s strategy.
  • The Manager needs to understand and interpret how the longer term plan translates into the annual operating plan.


Leading Perodica and Monthly Forecasting 

  • Lead the PI organization in completing periodic Financial forecast.
  • Ensure instructions for forecast are communicated and clearly understood by all of Finance.
  • Lead the analysis of the corporate forecast by analyzing the forecast for areas of conservatism/ risk and opportunity for improvement (in the financial result not the forecast process).


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Possesses technical aptitude to quickly learn internal/external systems (SQL, Adaptive Planning, SAP)
  • Captures and documents specific/accurate information; learns and completes work thoroughly and maintains organized files
  • Experience working in SaaS budgeting and reporting systems (ie. Adaptive Planning) Displays good communication (verbal/written) skills
  • Possesses technical aptitude to quickly learn internal/external systems
  • Possesses technical knowledge allowing for the creation of modelling tool used in Corp planning and forecasting
  • Adaptive Planning knowledge
  • Management experience


Education and/ or Work Experience Requirements

  • College degree with a major in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred however will consider a four year degree with coursework completed in finance or accounting along with 4 years’ experience
  • MBA in Finance and Information Systems is a plus
  • Freight-forwarding or logistics industry experience, preferred
  • Experience working with and aligning with enterprise level organization
  • Adaptive Planning background and experience is a plus
