Description

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of market‑driven, competitive sell rates for Purolator International while maintaining profitability. The role supports pricing for new and existing customers across Purolator International’s portfolio of products and services and assists with Pricing activities related to RFPs and ad‑hoc opportunities.

 

A key aspect of the role is analyzing pricing and profit margins and preparing supporting analysis for Sales and Sales Management. The Pricing Analyst contributes to contract renewals, general rate increases (GRIs), pricing incentives, and account improvement initiatives, while providing reporting and analytical support to the Senior Manager, Commercial Operations.

 

This is a very fast‑paced, internal stakeholder‑focused environment. The daily workload requires close collaboration with multiple departments – most notably Sales and the Districts. The candidate needs to be capable of supporting business needs, managing competing priorities, and self‑motivating to meet deadlines.

 

Hours of Work: Hybrid schedule, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with in‑office days Tuesday–Thursday and flexibility after 5 p.m. as needed.

 

Daily Functions:

  • Establish and evaluate pricing for new and existing sales opportunities, including upsells and ad-hoc services, ensuring alignment with margin, market, and volume objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver pricing analysis that supports sales proposals and selling price decisions for internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales to meet established Pricing service-level turnaround times.
  • Participate in Pricing-related projects as they arise.
  • Maintain various Pricing-related logs.
  • Establish work goals, objectives and standards.
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her manager

Experience Required in Order to Be Considered:

  • 3+ years on-the-job related experience
  • Experience applying business-related mathematics, e.g., accounting, finance, statistics, or related field.
  • Solid proficiency in Excel.
  • Basic understanding of pricing, margin analysis, or financial modeling.
  • Ability to interpret pricing and margin data and summarize insights that support selling price decisions for non‑technical stakeholders.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Strong problem-solving, mathematical acumen, and technical ability
  • Financial forecasting and modeling

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Finance, Accounting, Math, Statistics or related field

 

The base salary range for this role is  $77,539 - $94,000. Actual base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors permitted by law.
