Shift: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm


Location: Remote, work from home, with travel 1-2 time annually for departmental meetings, SDR can be located in the US or Canada, preferably in the Eastern or Central time zone


Compensation: This role offers a base salary as well as a quarterly bonused sales incentive plan


Job Overview:

Sales Development is a function that aligns closely with the sales and marketing departments of a business and focuses on the front-end of the sales cycle: identifying, qualifying, and gaining access to new business prospects. 


Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) develop sales pipeline through lead generation and nurturing the progression of sales opportunities. SDRs open new sales opportunities, and transition them to sales account executives who then close them.


The SDR roles consists of researching target companies and contacts, and trying to connect with them via cold calling, emailing and social selling through LinkedIn. They will communicate Purolator’s value propositions in an attempt to book first meetings with decision makers. SDR’s are provided target lists, but are also expected to uncover sales targets on their own. SDR’s should be able to customize messaging to a prospects specific needs and pain points. SDR’s are given training and tools to support their success such as talk tracks, email templates, cadence road maps, marketing campaigns, and logins to external web-based tools. New SDR’s are given onboarding training and assigned a mentor to support their ongoing growth and development. The SDR group has a very collaborative and fun team culture, with a proven track record of achieving results!


Requirements to be considered:

  • 2+ years of experience prospecting, cold calling & generating leads
  • Experience using a CRM, Salesforce preferred
  • Experience cold calling or selling into mid-market size and large national size accounts with C-level contacts
  • Documented history of success in a lead generation or sales role preferred


Daily Functions:

  • Action outbound sales cadences, including cold calling and emailing, to target prospects
  • In some instances, build your own target list based on a target customer profile
  • Uncover names and contact information for influencers and decision makers at target companies
  • Uncover needs and pain points of prospects
  • Customize email templates and craft messaging to align to a prospects unique needs
  • Communicate and build relationships with prospects
  • Apply a complete knowledge of all the organization’s products, solutions and policies
  • Keep up to date with logistics industry news and within the vertical markets we serve (healthcare, industrial, technology, retail)
  • Schedule meetings between prospects and sales staff via Zooms, Teams and/or Outlook
  • Liaison with sales staff to hand off identified sales opportunities
  • Achieve quarterly individual SDR KPIs for number of leads generated, and number of conversions to opportunities and proposals
  • Support and drive performance for departmental revenue target
  • Follow-up with campaign respondents and prospects who attended industry tradeshows, Purolator webinars and events
  • Respond to and qualify inbound sales request “Contact Us” forms from the company website
  • Maintain records in CRM database of all prospect information and prospecting activities 
  • Nurture and follow-up on sales opportunities to ensure they are progressing through the pipeline
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by leadership


Education Requirements

  • 2 year or greater college degree preferred
  • Relevant professional sales trainings preferred

Working conditions under which the job is performed include, but are not limited to concentrated visual or auditory attention, repetitive movements (i.e. typing, data entry, phone activity), heavy computer work, constant sitting at workstation.
