Job Description

Shift: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Location: The Finance team is based in our Long Island NY headquarters, so we would ideally like someone based in the Long Island NY area (or surrounding NY Metro area). Depending on the location of the candidate, this position may be remote, or may be domiciled within one of our offices within the United States


Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Financial / Pricing Analyst to join our Commercial Product Development team within our Finance department, located within our Jericho NY headquarters.  This position reports into the Manager of Pricing. 


Our Pricing Specialist II role is responsible for supporting corporate profit margin (P&L) requirements by employing market pricing for new and existing customers on various shipping industry products, services, as well as ad-hoc opportunities and analyzing pricing, profit margins and related financial considerations/impacts.


Contract and Pricing experience is preferred, but not required.  Current or previous experience working in the Parcel Industry and Logistics / Transportation / Freight Forwarding industry is a big plus. 



We are looking for the following experience in order to be considered:

  • 3 - 7 years of financial analysis experience
  • Intermediate – Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working in a demanding environment as well as often multi-tasking in a fast paced environment

  • Mathematics – this role requires excellent mathematical skills to derive insights from multiple data sources and utilize them to provide pricing advice to decision-makers

  • Problem-solving skills – effective problem-solving skills are vital in this role, need to devise solutions to drive profitability and support revenue goals
  • Communication skills –strong written and verbal communication skills; may need to provide data through reports and presentations


Job Responsibilities

  • Draft guidance for internal customers on contract renewals, increases to their accounts, policy guidance, market conditions, etc. 
  • Respond to inquiries and reinforce training and implemented pricing policy, margin analysis, and known market research to internal customers.  Support integrity and accuracy of CARR (internal document).
  • Prepare analysis of specific products, rate comparisons, pricing and cost elements as well as misc. and Ad Hoc studies including sensitivity analysis for reworking proposals in negotiations.
  • Assist in monitoring administration of sales agreements and communicate with internal customers on tactical aspects of contract requirements.
  • Collaborate with Contract Administration, Billing, Legal and Decision Support areas as well as the Proposal Content Specialist.  Support cross-functional teams in overall tactical effectiveness.
  • Establish pricing for new sales opportunities, RFQ’s or upsell as well as Ad Hoc services.  Help assure market and volume oriented pricing meets profit targets.  Support selling price determinations with internal customers while being responsive and meeting pricing SLA turnaround times.
  • Preparing supporting analysis for sales proposals that include financial as well as contractual interpretations. 
  • Maintain process and approval reporting including various logs, data element tracking, and KPI drafting.
  • Help identify and support development areas for continuous improvement.
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager.


Education and/ or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • 3 - 7 years of financial analysis experience
  • Contract and pricing experience preferred
  • Freight forwarding experience a plus
