Shift: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm


Location: The inside sales development team is located in our Jericho NY headquarters.  This is the ideal candidate location, however, we are open to various geographic locations within the US.


Compensation: This role offers a salary as well as a quarterly performance bonus to drive success and business leads. 


Job Overview:

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a critical part of the Marketing and Sales process. This position is primarily responsible for outbound prospecting to identify the right contact levels for companies that have the highest likelihood of needing our unique service offering. 


This specific SDR role will be focusing on the Automotive and Transportation vertical; identifying potential customers within these verticals that fit within our target market.  There is no limitation on size of business – this role will be focusing on mid-market size accounts up to national multi-million dollar business. 


Requirements to be considered:

  • 2+ years’ experience generating new business (cold calling) & obtaining new leads
  • 2+ years of successfully building customer base
  • Utilizing market research tools to obtain new business leads
  • Experience generating relationships with mid-market size accounts up to national multi-million dollar business


Daily Functions:

  • Validates and qualifies all inbound requests and all prospects gathered by the Marketing Department. This position will seek the best sources of prospects for our product offering using external research resources.
  • Responsible for identifying the characteristics of these prospects and recording all relevant information accurately into the CRM database system.
  • Work closely with sales to ensure the opportunity is clearly understood and acted upon; supports the sales team through all stages of the prospecting process, although the main emphasis is on the early stages of identification and prequalification.
  • Uncover and identify  prospects and sales opportunities in targeted sales markets using internet research and other external resources
  • Qualify and assess needs of prospects using a mix of phone, email and social selling techniques including cold calling
  • Qualify the opportunity from inbound requests  to determine if there is a fit with the Purolator product offerings
  • Achieve individual established quarterly KPIs,  and  team annual new business revenue target
  • Liaison with sales staff to hand off identified sales opportunities
  • Strategize with sales staff to identify targets, verticals and geographies of interests
  • Apply a complete knowledge of all the organization’s products/services and policies
  • Maintain records in CRM database of all prospects and maintain record of all phases of prospecting activities
  • Follow up to ensure sales compliance in sales process for marketing leads
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager


Education and/ or Work Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years of generating new business and obtaining new leads
  • 2+ years of successfully building customer base
  • Proficient in using CRM is preferred
  • Experience working in the Automotive or Transportation industry is ideal

Working conditions under which the job is performed include, but are not limited to concentrated visual or auditory attention, repetitive movements (i.e. typing, data entry, phone activity), heavy computer work, constant sitting at workstation.
