Job Description

Talent Acquisition Specialist


Hours: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am -5:00 pm, 37.5 hours per week


Travel: minimal (as needed for trainings, companywide events, etc. once travel ban lifted)


Job Summary

Reporting into the TA Manager, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for supporting end-to-end recruiting process resulting in highest quality hires in a timely, efficient manner. Coaches and assists hiring managers throughout the process, from reviewing and defining clear job skill specifications and sourcing candidates to constructing offers and closing out requisitions. Responsible for administrative recruiting, coordination of activities including ongoing reporting and/or updates to Manager.



  • Assists managers with defining clear job skill specifications to ensure appropriate identification of candidates and selection of highest quality hires.
  • Develops expertise and practical knowledge within different business units.
  • Acts as a team member by providing information, analysis and recommendations in support of team efforts.
  • Works with Manager to review current strategies and assist in developing new strategies to attract and retain quality hires.
  • Maintains a schedule of recruiting activities at targeted universities; identifying and preparing effective advertising strategies.
  • Communicates, promotes and actively markets Purolator International, Inc.
  • Coordinates the selection process from sourcing through reference verification.
  • Provides proactive communication to candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assists in the creation and development of talent pipeline based on the current and future recruiting needs of business.
  • Deploys a variety of recruiting methods including internet, employee referrals, networking, cold calling, with limited reliance on contingent and/or retained search to identify potential candidates.
  • Management of full-cycle recruiting process with hands-on experience to recruit candidates across all disciplines and technical professions.
  • Works directly with Management to modify job content, manage job postings, screen candidates, build interview teams, interviews and debrief meetings and candidate follow up.
  • Meet with Manager to track and analyze recruiting efforts; assess performance of postings.
  • Work with Manager in strategizing and refining the recruitment practice, including employment branding, candidate assessment and selection tools.
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager


Knowledge & Abilities

  • Proven track record in recruiting candidates for hard to fill positions.
  • Ability to work on multiple recruiting projects across the country simultaneously.
  • Detailed and process oriented with excellent telephone and communications skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High energy, highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands.
  • Strong analytical and negotiating skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Internet/Job Boards.


Education and Work Experience

  • 5+ years full life cycle recruitment experience within a corporate environment.
  • Experience staffing for multiple positions at a time, across different departments and geographical locations
  • Experience developing relationships with hiring Managers and understanding their business needs.
  • Logistics / Freight Forwarding industry experience, preferred
  • Recruitment experience with Sales positions preferred
