This is a temporary posisiton. 


Job Summary

The primary focus of the Logistics Compliance Specialist is to ensure that all of our customer’s freight pick-ups and deliveries are scheduled and executed without issue at a reasonable cost. In addition, this role provides on-site coordination and oversight of all domestic air and ground.  Also, import and export shipments at gateway, including shipment and document preparation, booking, coordination of customs clearance, as well as pick-up and delivery.


SHIFT: 2pm -10pm, M-F with rotating weekend on call work 5-7 times per year




Experience Required to Be Considered

  • 1+ years’ experience working in dispatch operations setting (control center / office) in Transportation & Logistics company
  • Microsoft Outlook experience a must
  • Microsoft Excel Intermediate + proficiency (data manipulation, pivot tables, sorting, filtering, etc.)
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and/or proven ability to navigate multiple carrier websites
  • Pre-existing relationships with carriers (it is required to have a relationship with a carrier; whether it be an asset based experience of dispatcher to driver, or more indirectly as a freight forwarder to a dispatcher or manager)
  • Some hands on experience in import/export procedures due to remote management of position


Job Function:

  • Publishing and distributing daily summary reports to key stakeholders which communicate issues and potential issues
  • Collaborating with teammates on current issues to ensure best possible outcomes
  • Tracking freight movements across multiple transportation segments
  • Maintenance of Beacon (TMS) system
  • Developing and building relationships with new and existing transportation partners
  • Follow-up with transportation partners about service failures to develop countermeasures
  • Developing and implementing solutions for distressed shipments through the comprehension of the transportation network’s design and dynamics
  • Developing and implementing transportation coverage for unplanned shipments through the comprehension of the transportation network’s design and dynamics
  • Carry out other duties as appropriate and as assigned by his/her Manager

  • Proven ability to cope with significant amounts of stress and time pressure
  • Proven ability to handle multiple issues to achieve the most cost effective solution while meeting the customer service expectations

  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to function within a team and focus on personal responsibilities and objectives
  • Proficient in using MS Outlook and Excel
