As a Learning & Development Program Consultant (Contract) you will be responsible for developing innovative best in class training programs that further the learning experience of our employees.  We are looking for someone who has a passion for learning and teaching others to be their best.   At Purolator we are committed to creating a growth mindset environment and you will be responsible for furthering this objective.  You will also be responsible for ensuring that we develop training products that are of high-quality, sustainable, and use innovative approaches for delivering impactful programs that meet the needs of both Corporate and our Front-line employees. Success in this role requires a high level of comfort interacting with stakeholders at all levels of our business, from our Couriers, Sorters, and other Frontline employees to Senior Managers, Executives, and external vendors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to provide best in class training solutions that delivery results and are sustainable
  • Develop strategic training plans, and work to  develop and deploy training solutions using the Purolator Program development cycle
  • Ability to determine the right training solution for each specific project by conducting a thorough needs assessments
  • Ability to  work with subject matter experts and the Instructional Design team to develop e-learnings, facilitator guides, participant guides, PowerPoint decks, job aids, videos  etc. to support various learning needs.
  • Collaborate with business leadership to deliver learning solutions that enable effective performance using your knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Drive a learning culture and promote available training opportunities to support clients’
  • Develop innovative training solutions that consider what’s new in the industry and metrics
  • Administer necessary administrative tasks associated with all relevant learning solutions, ensuring all employee training records are updated in the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Manage training budget for programs being developed and report on performance

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years demonstrated ability applying adult learning practices in needs assessments, design, delivery, and evaluative methods. 
  • Adult education degree, diploma, certificate, with in-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, training methodologies and best practices is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French is an asset)
  • Skilled presenter and facilitator able to train-the-trainer and coach key stakeholders
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, and experience with managing multiple projects at varying stages
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to understand individual needs and manage expectations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  and ability to effectively consult, negotiate, and influence solutions with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, and is able to drive results by doing the research to get to a solution
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in an environment with multiple deadlines/changing priorities
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 is required
