Job Description

 

 

The Role 

The IT Manager, Network Operations will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance for all of Purolator and the employees that falls into the Network portfolio. They will manage, optimize, and support our services, products, and processes. This role will work directly with all levels within the organization from the leadership to the support teams solving urgent problems, or influencing long term strategies with internal customers across Canada and United States. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain governing processes  

  • Lead the definition of mid- and long-term Strategies and the execution of a large Network transformation across IT 

  • Expertise on industry standards  

  • Responsible for supporting the scoping/leading of projects 

  • Provide oversight support during IT issues/escalations as the point of contact, and managing the team that is resolving the issue  

  • As part of projects and continuous enhancements, collaborate with solution team(s) updating/developing support process, migration plans, end user change management framework 

  • Participate and support Architecture design for the portfolio they manage (i.e. Cybersecurity and Network) 

  • Monitor and respond to regulatory requirements and updates 

  • Support the programs for regulatory compliancy including PCI, PII, CASL, etc and SOC 

  • Develop and promote information security best practices, and promote information security awareness 

  • Stay up-to-day on information security standards, vulnerability published and remediation approach 

 

 

Requirements: 

  • Understanding of SDLC, Architecture, and project delivery methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).  

  • Strong technical leadership skills to guide and manage technical standards are required. Ensure technical standards are attainable and appropriate.  

  • Detailed knowledge with LAN, WAN, Telecommunications and Wireless.  

  • Includes knowledge of cabling standards, TCP/IP, VLANS and routing protocols along with troubleshooting techniques with network management software which includes the ability to analyze packet captures and provide expert diagnostic feedback. 

  • Demonstrated experience with successful LAN, WAN and WLAN design and implementation as well as experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices. 

  • Knowledge in Data Center Network Architectures (Unified Fabric, SDN and ACI), SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP with MP-BGP, and DMVPN. 

  • Experience of cloud security management, risk management approach and technique, designing secure networks/systems 

  • Knowledge of security management tools including IPS, IDS, DLP, SIEM, etc 

  • Cloud based contact center telephony services, and business communications 

 

The Candidate 

Ideal candidates would have: 

  • A minimum of 5+ years of combined relevant experience (e.g., security management, penetration testing; incident response; cloud security; business continuity; IT operations) is required; more experience is strongly preferred. 

  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in Information Technology with a focus on Network Engineering and/or Cybersecurity.  

  • Previous work experience should include management roles delivering at an elevated level and focused on building high-performing teams. 

  • Experience in managing technology vendor relationships and end-to-end projects.
