Description
Reporting to the Senior Consultant of Return to Work, this position plays a vital role in assisting the organization to best in class performance, requiring a significant departure from the status quo. This position may reside close to a Purolator terminal in any of the following locations: Richmond, Burnaby, Port Kells.
Responsibilities
- Provides support to Operations on non-complex, Workers’ Compensation (WCB) claims. This includes disability management, return-to-work and accommodations to ensure operational compliance with legislation and regulations, corporate policies and procedures.
- Oversees accuracy of reporting and tracking of all workplace injuries/illnesses and absences into the H & S software system.
- Works with provincial, WCB/CNESST along with external healthcare providers to gather medical and return to work information.
- Promotes the Return-to-Work Program by meeting with injured employees and Operations in recommending modified work and creating return-tow-work plans.
- Collaboratives with the RTW team, Health and Safety, Operations, and other business partners to positively impact metrics relating to injury/illness and disability management outcomes
- Supports Purolator Health on health and well-being initiatives and identifies Ergonomic or other well-being concerns in the workplace.
Education
- University degree preferably in human resources, health care, social services, Kinesiology is preferred
Experience
- Less than one year of demonstrated experience in claims & disability management
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Valid provincial driver’s license, some travel may be required.
- Proficient of Microsoft Office software packages, Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point is required.
