Description
The Control Tower Specialist acts as operational lead that is responsible for evaluating and stabilizing all discrepancies within the network. The role is responsible for long and short range planning, analyzing and resolving network issues, and assisting the overall network operations.
Responsibilities
- Track and maintain various network inputs and outputs
- Communicate relevant information to various internal and external stakeholders
- Manage mechanical issues with third party vendor, facilitate recovery plan with external vendors and local operations
- Create and support incidents by Case Management
- Coordinate the movements of internal/external assets
- Mediate and resolve any disputes between local operations and outside carriers
- Liaise with Network Planning to execute network activities
- Build reports and based on data collection
- Coach operations on tool use, tactics and best practices to be leveraged in order to benefit the customer experience
- Analyze Operational and client-specific data to identify areas of opportunity for improved customer experience
Education
College degree in field such as transportation or logistics studies
Experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- 5 years or more experience in a similar role in the transportation or logistics industry
- 4 years' experience in Transportation Network
- 4 years' experience building strong working relationships with Operations team members at all levels across
- the country
- 4 years' experience in Transportation Network gained either through a control room operation or network security.
- 4 years' experience with data preparation, diagnostics, trending, and written/ verbal communication
