Description
The GTT Unit Manager regulates and supervises the terminal with Ground Transportation and Linehaul activities. The Unit Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of a medium sized terminal which is measured by the following KPI's: Safety, Productivity, Service and Revenue.
Responsibilities
- Manage a group of unionized employees specifically Linehaul Drivers
- Create a positive work environment, building employee loyalty and a team atmosphere
- Responsible for achieving objectives as outlined in the operational scorecard within the GTT linehaul operations
- Responsible for managing performance of employees as per operational standards and indices within the GTT linehaul operations
- Improve operational standards through reviews of employee performance, coaching, counseling and recognition
- Responsible for communicating and implementing policy, procedure or programs
- Responsible for completing a variety of reports and documents
- All other related and assigned duties
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of AZ/Tractor-Trailer regulations, laws and industry practices
- Operational experience in the transportation/logistics industry
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience managing large unionized teams
