Job Discription:

This position supports Purolator's core operations by minimizing machine downtime and maximizing employee safety. Working on a team to support our National Hub, you will be maintaining cutting edge equipment that operates within material handling (MHE), automatic sortation systems, conveyors, and more! The ideal candidate is a registered apprentice that is already working towards their licence. 

Core Job Duties:

• Perform  assigned work in an efficient way to minimize machine downtime while ensuring employee safety is maintained.
• Performing regular preventative maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE), automatic sortation systems, conveyors, gear boxes and ensure compliance to schedule.
• Perform Predictive Maintenance.
• Diagnosing mechanical failure and performing repairs on MHE, including conveyors, gear boxes, rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics system, sorters  etc.
• Actively inspects and monitors all equipment to ensure system in good condition.
• Performing basic electrical work.
• Performing non-structural welding and fabrication.
• Manage work orders in CMMS properly to ensure work is properly documented and parts are restocked.
• Assisting in new installations, repairs and preventive maintenance on material handling equipment.
• Perform regular housekeeping duties and maintain 5S standards 
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Registered apprentice with Ministry of Labour and progressing to get a licence as  industrial millwright certificate with at least 1 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of basic electrical work.
• Background must include demonstrable knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Welding, fitting, and or machine shop experience an asset.
• Basic computer skills (To collect and close work orders in CMMS) 
• Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
• Must possess personal tools as identified by company
• Successfully completed written and practical assessments.
