Description
The PM Specialist Operations Specialist loads dispatch and sort plans into the system and monitors the efficiency and effectiveness of the automated sortation and dispatch systems within the Toronto West facility. The role is responsible for building and load-balancing dispatch using VVR for the building, while acting as the central control point supporting real time operational execution. The position will recommend and implement system and plan adjustments, as directed by management, to ensure the operation remains productive, balanced, and service focused.
Hours of work: Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:00pm
Responsibilities
- Build, load, and optimize dispatch plans using VVR for the Toronto West Facility
- Load and manage sort plans within the automated sortation system
- Monitor flow, capacity, and system performance within the automated warehouse environment
- Work closely with frontline managers to optimize capacity, service, and recovery execution
- Collaborate with PM Dock managers to maintain planned inbound and outbound flow
- Respond to system, chute, and dispatch performance issues to safeguard automation assets, packages, and people. Perform pre-trip and post-trip of MHE to ensure proper sortation.
- Generate reporting on MHE performance and operational productivity to drive visibility and improvement actions
- Support real-time operational decision making during volume fluctuations, disruptions, and peak periods
- Other duties as required
Education
- Certificate in any electrical, automation, or industrial control systems discipline is an asset
Experience
- 2–3 years operational experience in an automated warehouse or sortation environment
- Experience with dispatch planning, network flow, or inter-terminal linehaul movements is an asset
