Job Description

The National Control Centre (NCC) supervisor acts as operational lead and coach to a group of clerical professionals. He/she is responsible to support the NCC operations through administrative services, active involvement, and team support.  The supervisor will be responsible for long and short range planning, analyzing and resolving network issues, and assisting the overall network operations. He/she will also be responsible for day to day administrative activities, scheduling, and performing NCC coordinator duties as required.


Job Description 

•    Coordinate activities and planning with internal departments including Linehaul, GTT, GTM, Field Ops, Air Ops, Hubs, Purolator International, Purolator Logistics, Purolator Freight and GOC partners such as SCI and CPC to deliver on objectives provided
•    Acts as a liaison, coordinating activities and planning with 40+ external transport suppliers
•    Responsible for assigning duties to employees on shift and ensure that they are followed through
•    Coach and mentor coordinators, formulating performance standards and conducts evaluations
•    Administer Crisis Management activities as necessary and identify improvement and development opportunities
•    Provide visibility, updates and reporting to management such as on time line haul performance, Transportation Management System (TMS) updates, Late in Transit (LIT) updates, Tracking updates, Operational reporting, Network service reporting, Carrier Compliance monitoring
•    Coach operations on how to use tools and identify best business practice ECHO compliance
•    Govern and oversee processes as it relates to ThinkLP, SAP TM, ECHO, Trip Tracking, Tracking Update Tool
•    TMS accountabilities and compliance (Administrative and Functional)
•    Assist in the planning and implementation of systems that improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures
•    Develop and promote a NCC department in which emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance
•    Work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and train staff
•    Responsible for Holiday Planning and short & long term scheduling
•    Coach and Mentor/Process Compliance audit
•    Detailed understanding of all NCC tools and their relatable functions
•     Lead/host conference/national calls as required


•    3 Years of experience in managing a control room type environment with direct reports
•    Experiencing using a Transportation Management System (ECHO, SAP TM) is an asset
•    Knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Teams,
•    In-depth knowledge of data analysis and systems including Qlikview and ability create Pivot Tables
•    Strong time management skills and the ability to deliver results
•    Strong customer focus and ability to follow through with requirements
•    Ability to problem solve and solution complex network issues
