Job Description

We are looking for a District Manager to manage multiple facilities in the our Southwestern Ontario divisionAs a District Manager of the London District you will lead a team of Managers and provide a world-class brand experience for our customers.


Job Description


  • Set Direction and expectations for service excellence
  • Improve customer satisfaction by providing exceptional scanning visibility and on time service
  • Monitor and drive performance in all service indexes
  • Participate in customer visits with Sales


Expense Management

  • Set direction and expectations for the productivity and results of the business units
  • Monitor productivity actuals vs. targets and provide feedback to Unit Managers
  • Promote and manage Trak3 Revenue to budget and capability
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues and other departments
  • Drive Company growth and excellence through cross functional coordination
  • Manage facility maintenance and contractor services
  • Maintain all systems, records and procedures according to Work Instructions, Policies and legislated requirements
  • Manage hours, KPI’s, Budgets
  • Support cost reduction initiatives



  • Manage direct reports and employee/labour relations
  • Ensure Health & Safety Committee operates within Company policies and legislative requirements
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed and thorough accident investigations are conducted
  • Understand and apply applicable Collective Agreements and create a positive labour relations and work environment with consistent and fair practices
  • Set performance standards and hold staff accountable
  • Promote training and development for all employees
  • Coach and empower Unit Managers, Lead Hands and Workplace Trainers
  • Evaluate personnel issues and make decisions including progressive discipline



  • Protect profitability, people, customers, inventory and security of Purolator
  • Strive for profitability by looking beyond budgets for opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure appropriate capture of revenue through proper billing systems
  • Support Sales Initiatives
  • Ensure inclusiveness and alignment with other departments



  • Degree or Certificate in Business or Logistics is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in the Courier, Transportation and/or
  • Logistics and/or Distribution Industry.
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment.
  • Strong communication skills are required to ensure that suitable
  • agreements/decisions are reached on behalf of the Company.
  • Knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma considered an asset.
  • Must be proficient in the following programs in order to effectively schedule, communicate and present operational changes and vision: Word, Excel, Outlook,
  • PowerPoint and Smart Phone technology.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Experience in other software used would include: BI, TMS, Mobile Dispatch and various Purolator specific software programs and platforms
