Description

Under general direction of the Senior Accounting Manager, the accounting analyst is accountable for ensuring the integrity of general ledger and financial information used for internal and external reporting. Responsible for accounting and reporting related (but not limited) to the consistency, completeness, and standardization of the Bank close processes and Capital Asset procedures. The ideal candidate will perform monthly general ledger analysis and reconciliations, reconciling credit card transaction and fees, and journalize all activities associated with daily banking. As well the analyst will be involved in and responsible for the corporate credit cards by acting as a main contact to process new application, conversing with users to resolve transaction issues, and take action on fraudulent activity.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of monthly bank transactions and reconcile entries in a timely manner
  • Support and back up activities relating to the full Capital Asset and Treasury processes
  • Assist in Month end and Year end closing responsibilities including journal entries, investigating variances, and providing accurate and complete data for Financial Statements
  • Completion of all external and internal audit requirements
  • Ensure business requirements are documented and Internal Controls are followed and supported
  • Special Projects and Ad Hoc requests as required measure success in achieving the strategic plan

Education

  • College / University degree in Business / Accounting
  • Intermediate or final stages of Accounting Designation

Experience

  • Strong knowledge of International Accounting Standards an asset
  • SAP S4/Hana Experience or similar. Focus on process improvements
  • Must be a team player who enjoys working in a cross functional group with ability to work independently
  • Thrive in a challenging environment with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple requests/responsibilities
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Individual must be organized and have excellent time management skills
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
