Job Description

The Corporate Strategy & Planning team at Purolator works closely with senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making. The team operates as an internal consulting team on the company’s most critical initiatives focusing on strategy planning and development, industry / market thought leadership, internal and external ventures, and Board reporting. 


Reporting to the Manager, Market Intelligence within the Corporate Strategy team, the Analyst will play an integral role in supporting the sourcing, analyzing, and communicating of market intelligence and insights across the Enterprise. This role is a highly visible position that interacts with many teams across Purolator including Marketing, Product Management, Finance, Operations and Sales.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Regularly scan market and competitor data to uncover market trends, opportunities, and address business issues
  • Collaborate with Manager to develop insights and recommendations to the organization that inform and drive action from the right teams and people
  • Support Enterprise strategic planning processes and high priority projects with relevant information and insights
  • Assist in maintenance of proprietary database of courier and freight market segment performance, market sizing and growth projections
  • Analyze complex data sets and build financial models
  • Support development of presentation materials as required for Board reviews, Executive team meetings and key clients across the organization
  • Work with Internal project teams and Enterprise SME’s to translate market data requirements into market research proposals
  • Participate in the coordination of external market research engagements with third party vendors and internal project teams with key Enterprise SMEs in support Enterprise strategic priorities
  • Cultivate a strong reputation as a ‘go-to’ source for market intelligence and insights




  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years work experience in an analytics role with experience in market intelligence and/or competitive intelligence an asset
  • Courier, transportation and / or logistics experience is desired but not a pre-requisite
  • Proven project management capabilities and experience leading research engagements with third parties
  • Experience preparing detailed financial models and working with complex financial information
  • Ability to filter large amounts of information and summarize into concise format for various audiences
  • Confident with strong organizational, communication (both written and verbal) and problem solving
  • Ability to take initiative, be a self-starter and provide value-added support
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • High proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel and experience creating dashboards in Power BI or Tableau is an asset
