Job Description

IT Support Analyst EDI

Job Description:

  • Analyze stakeholder’s requests and business issues and provide guidance and efficient resolutions
  • Assist other departments and teams in resolving EDI related production technical issues as well as identifying deficiencies
  • Communicate results to all stakeholders including internal customers and other teams and assist with resolution of identified deficiencies.
  • Provide analysis and technical assistance to the EDI production support team in order to help resolve customers issues as required
  • Analyze, design and implement EDI related solutions for new or existing applications issues
  • Provide technical support to new and existing projects as well as support ad hoc requests
  • Review current EDI shipping solutions and applications recommending improvements and efficiencies as well as standardizing processes
  • Apply continues improvement principles to increase the overall EDI process and related applications quality
  • Conduct training to other departments based on new or modified software solutions



  • University or College diploma in computers, software design or any computer application development specialty or equivalent working experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Good knowledge of SDLC and QA Processes, and experience with all levels and types of testing (Unit, UAT, functional, smoke, regression, system, security, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze complex concepts related to integration of multiple systems and how they satisfy business processes
  • Strong time management, decision making and problem solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven abilities to perform business analysis, translating requirements into functional specifications that can help drive specification for developers and/or testers as needed.
  • Need to be an all-rounder, but emphasis for this role is especially on business and systems analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications, as there will be much interaction with other people, as well as capturing user requirements.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure



  • Experience with Agile project delivery methodologies
  • Experience creating user stories and developing software test plans and cases
  • Must have working experience of EDI ANSI X12 transportation transactions such as 204, 210, 211, 213, 214, 210, 820, etc., as well as understanding CSV and FF files
  • Demonstrated skill in data analysis with exposure to a variety of data file formats (XML, Json, CSV and FF)
  • Experience with communication protocols like AS2, FTP, FTP(s), SFTP and working with VAN(s)
  • Experience in MS Office family of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point) as well as JIRA, Confluence, Visio, SQL  
  • Knowledge of programming logic and scripting would be a strong asset
  • Knowledge of Biztalk and AWS preferred
  • Experience with SAP and EDI related solutions would be an asset
  • Experience with WAMP, SOAP, XML and API based solutions preferred
