Job Description

We are looking for a creative and highly organized team-player with a passion and talent for telling powerful brand stories, by understanding consumers deeply and formulating strategies and plans.  The Brand Marketing Consultant will be the brand advocate and will assist the Brand team with brand campaign creation and execution, supporting overall brand awareness, corporate thought leadership and other cross-functional initiatives.   

 

  • Assist in end to end creation of brand marketing collateral, including creation of project briefs, managing vendors to produce creative, high-quality content to support the strategy and other marketing initiatives not limited to social media, SEP, and campaigns including cross-functional programs.
  • Work collaboratively with subject matter experts (SMEs), compliance, health & safety and legal teams for review and approvals. Responsible for quality control, including accuracy, proofing and data checking of all content and marketing communication materials created.
  • Responsible for ensuring the content effectively and appropriately impacts varying distribution channels, and audiences in different parts of the customer journey and sales funnel while following best practices.
  • Manage projects and execute high-quality marketing communication tactics (by leveraging marketing insights and company thought-leadership, supporting corporate initiatives including but not limited to CSR cross-functional campaigns, Sponsorship awareness campaigns and activations, product launches, product and operational enhancements, and other customer communications while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor and report on metrics and other KPIs and provide insight to continuously improve brand awareness using analytics, a/b testing, SEO, and optimization of landing pages and website.  Track performance of social media activity on an ongoing basis to continuously drive success metrics such as engagement and conversions.
  • Keep up with trends and advise on brand awareness marketing, social media, digital applications, tools and best practices.
  • Responsible for branding reviews to ensure that everyone who touches the Purolator brand, represents it with consistency to maintain a strong brand identity across all internal and external platforms. 
  • Establish rapport and develop trusting relationships with peer members and business stakeholders.
  • Functions as an additional resource for ad hoc/urgent requests.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Business Administration, Advertising, Communications, Journalism, and/or English, or equivalent.
  • 5 + years of equivalent experience.
  • Agency background or experience is an asset. 
  • A creative communicator (written and verbal) and passionate storyteller with excellent ability to manage various vendors and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Highly customer-focused with ability to create and convey communications that attract, persuade, and convert prospects into loyal customers
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of new trends, best practices, strategies in brand building and consumer engagement channels (digital, e-commerce, social, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, SEO, SEM, PPC, U/X an asset
  • Project management, time management and organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously independently and within a team environment
  • Must be highly adaptable and flexible and able to make sound decisions and judgements while dealing with ambiguity (engaging the right stakeholders, vendors, and existing resources to weight alternatives, make decisions, monitor and seek feedback).
  • Ability to work with cross functional stakeholders, SME’s and internal clients to communicate, negotiate, and understand requirements, gather input and approvals.  
  • Communication and negotiation skills to manage vendors. Communicating requirements, gathering quotes, negotiating timelines, providing feedback and approvals.
  • Self-starter, resourceful, proactive, and results-oriented with strong relationship-building skills
