Purolator is a leading integrated freight, parcel, and logistics solutions provider in Canada. With over 60 years of experience, Purolator has established a strong market position, known for its reliable service and extensive reach across the country and internationally.  As an EDI Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing electronic data interchange (EDI) processes, ensuring the accurate and efficient transfer of data between internal systems and trading partners. A key aspect of the role includes overseeing customer onboarding processes and driving the evolution of EDI services to meet changing business needs. You will also be involved in testing enhancements and troubleshooting EDI issues while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities

 

  • EDI Implementation and Support 
    • Design, configure, and implement EDI transactions and integrations to support business processes and customer onboarding.
    • Monitor daily EDI operations, ensuring the successful transmission and receipt of data.
    • Collaborate with new customers to understand their EDI requirements and set up their accounts for successful integration.
    • Provide guidance and support during the onboarding process, ensuring customers can effectively utilize EDI systems.
  • EDI Services Evolution:
    • Analyze and evaluate current EDI services and workflows to recommend enhancements that improve efficiency and service quality.
    • Drive the evolution of EDI services in alignment with business goals and industry advancements.
  • Testing of Enhancements
    • Develop and execute test plans for EDI enhancements to validate functionality and performance.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that updates meet business requirements and do not interfere with existing operations.
  • Data Mapping and Translation:
    • Develop and maintain mapping specifications for EDI transactions using mapping tools and software.
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy during translation processes between internal systems and EDI formats (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT).
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution
    • Analyze and resolve EDI-related issues, working with internal teams and trading partners to identify root causes.
    • Provide timely support to customers regarding EDI processes and systems, offering solutions to enhance their experience.
  • Documentation and Compliance
    • Create and maintain documentation related to EDI processes, standards, procedures, customer onboarding, and enhancements.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards in EDI transactions.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (IT, operations, supply chain, customer service, etc.) to understand EDI requirements and facilitate effective integration.
    • Communicate with trading partners and new customers regarding EDI setup, testing, and ongoing support.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation related to EDI, customer onboarding, and enhancements.
    • Stay current with EDI technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend enhancements for the organization.

Qualifications

 

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field
    Experience
    • 5 years of experience in EDI analysis, implementation, support, and services evolution, with a focus on customer onboarding and testing.
    • Familiarity with EDI standards (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) and data formats (XML, CSV).
  • Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in EDI mapping tools (e.g., Sterling Integrator, Gentran, or similar).
    • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or others) and their integration with EDI. Knowledge of AWS and AZURE best practices and dashboarding is a plus.
    • Experience with SQL and database management is a plus. Experience with Python is a plus. Salesforce certifications are a plus.
  • Soft Skills
    •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Smart. Customer Focused.
    • Data and Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in Configurations methodology
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and how EDI supports customer onboarding.

 

Language Requirement: Proficiency in English is required for this position due to the frequent communications that must be conducted in English with various stakeholders. This requirement is justified by the nature of the responsibilities and operational needs.
