Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Compensation, the Compensation Lead plays a key role in managing core compensation processes and ensuring compliance with job evaluation and pay equity standards. This role serves as the subject matter expert in job evaluation, pay equity, and compensation operations, driving process excellence and supporting strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Job Evaluation: Lead job evaluation processes, administrate system job creation, maintain job architecture, and ensure consistency in evaluation outcomes.
  • Pay Equity Compliance: Manage pay equity plans, data validation, and liaise with consultants to ensure legislative compliance.
  • Off-Cycle Salary Management: Process off-cycle requests, maintain internal equity, and collaborate with HR partners.
  • Salary Range Management: Develop and maintain salary ranges, ensure system accuracy, and manage job benchmarking.
  • Year-End Compensation: Contribute to year-end process by supporting critical process and components, including but not limited to bonus calculations, year-end statements, employee communications and year-end reporting.
  • LTIP Administration: Maintain participant records, monitor compliance, support reporting and communication efforts.
  • Knowledge Management: Create and update SOPs, workflows, and HRSS knowledge base articles (KBAs).
  • Project Leadership: Lead or support compensation-related projects aligned with organizational goals.
  • Other tasks assigned by the Senior Manager, Compensation

Qualifications

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; CCP designation is a strong asset.
  • 3+ years of experience in both point-factor job evaluation and compensation year-end processes, playing a lead or critical role in execution.
  • Solid knowledge of federal pay equity, nice to have end-to-end process experience.
  • Proven experience in salary range development and management.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, data validation, complex formulas).
  • Proficiency with HR systems (e.g., SuccessFactors).
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills; well organized and able to drive initiatives to completion.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • High attention to detail, discretion, and ability to manage sensitive data.
  • Collaborative, organized, and adaptable to changing business needs.
  • Skilled in coaching and knowledge sharing within compensation practices.
