Description

The Insurance and Risk Coordinator plays a key role in protecting the organization by supporting the insurance program, coordinating renewals, maintain enterprise risk records, and driving efficient insurance workflows. This role facilitates the execution of coverage renewals, accurate documentation, timely claims management, and data-driven decision-making in risk and insurance.

Responsibilities

Insurance Administration

  • Initiate the insurance policy renewal process and pre and post binding.
  • Manage the issuance of renewal and ad-hoc certificate of insurance.
  • Serve as key contact for the insurance broker and internal clients.
  • Track and maintain insurance premiums, deductibles, coverage limits, endorsements, and renewal dates.

Claims & Reporting

  • Act as the primary point of contact for insurance claims and monitor progress.
  • Track and analyze claim trends and support implementation of prevention strategies.
  • Prepare insurance summaries, reports, and dashboards with the Risk Manager.

Risk Management

  • Maintain risk register database.
  • Support risk assessments for projects, contracts, new initiatives, and emerging business activities.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, and other departments to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Conduct research and prepare reports to support risk and insurance initiatives.

Process & Compliance

  • Manage the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for risk assessment and insurance claims workflows.
  • Support enterprise-wide governance risk and insurance programs.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and enterprise compliance with regulations and contractual requirements.

Education

  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field.

Experience

  • 2–4 years of insurance administration, risk management, or brokerage experience.
  • Strong understanding of insurance policies, claims processes, and industry regulations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of insurance principles and risk management practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports or dashboards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and risk/insurance software.
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
