Job Description

  • Responsible for all areas of financial accounting and reporting including developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures.
  • Responsible for overseeing, preparation and timely reporting of all financial results including consolidation of US subsidiary and all lines of business
  • Managing month end and quarter end close process including:
    • Formula Value per Share Calculations
    • ESOP process
    • Valuation of investments
  • Managing quarter end interim audit engagement
  • Managing year end close process including annual audit engagement
  • Responsible for preparation of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and pension plan statements
  • Manage monthly and quarterly report to Parent Company including financial results and related party reconciliations
  • Responsible for overseeing and preparation of monthly financial reports for Senior Management and other corporate functions as well as quarterly reports for Audit Committee and Board of Directors
  • Ensure timely review of GL account analysis to ensure the integrity of financial information recorded in the General Ledger (GL) and reported in the financial statements
  • Manage relationship with all Purolator finance teams including US subsidiary and external auditors
  • Assist with various tax audits and provide all required information and reports to tax manager and tax consultant for filing tax returns or other tax compliance matters
  • Ensure ICFR controls that relates to the financial reporting and accounting processes are complied with the ICFR guidelines
  • Identify, lead and execute continuous improvement opportunities within the accounting and finance
  • Participate or represent accounting in the implementation of IT systems or solutions that affects financial reporting and accounting
  • Develops a competent team through regular succession planning,  talent management and individual career development and training

 

Required Qualifications:

 

Accounting Designation

Knowledge and understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards

Basic to intermediate knowledge on Direct and Indirect taxes

SAP knowledge and sound knowledge or a quick learner of using various IT applications including MS Office

Strong communication skills both verbal and written – ability to deal with individuals at all levels

Proven leadership skills

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple deliverables

Team oriented
