Description
The Consultant, Corporate Communications, will be involved in all areas of the business, collaborating with internal business partners, to develop and execute communications plans and materials that align with Purolator's strategic priorities, as well as business plans of various functional areas.
Main areas of responsibility will be providing communications counsel and support for initiatives that align with the company’s strategic objectives, timely development of communications plans and related materials, crisis communications and issues management support, as well as developing engaging and informative content for various communications vehicles and target audiences (e.g. social media platforms, internal / external messaging documents, media pitching, company intranet and digital screens).
You will:
• Work with business partners (including Product, Sales, Sustainability, Health and Safety and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) to create plans and materials in support of strategic communications campaigns and initiatives.
• Develop communications plans and content for Purolator’s public relations, social media and employee engagement channels.
• Look for storytelling opportunities and develop visual and written materials that effectively communicate messages to key business units (internal) and stakeholders (external).
This role would be a good fit for an enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude. This individual is also a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can hit the ground running by supporting a variety of communications initiatives.
This is role a hybrid role being in the office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities
• Acting as communications lead to support corporate projects and business objectives.
• Providing communications counsel and support to internal business partners to achieve communications goals and objectives.
• Writing and developing compelling internal and external communications content for a variety of communications vehicles, adjusting approach and style based on target audience.
Skills, knowledge, and abilities:
• Strong communication skills in English – both written and verbal.
• Strong writing and editing skills for print and online communication.
• Strategic communications plan development and execution.
• Strong project management skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Customer-focus orientation.
• Able to work on multiple tasks (strong time management skills) in a high-energy, high demand, team-oriented environment.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
• Content planning and development would be an asset.
• Graphic design capabilities and proficiency in Adobe suite of products (specifically InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop) would be an asset.
Experience
- 5-8 years’ experience working in corporate communications.
Education
· Post-secondary education required, ideally in corporate communications or public relations.
