The focus of this role is on the interpretation of data, trends, and patterns through complex analysis and creating powerful insights/storytelling that inform and drive business outcomes. The role delivers cross-functional analyses to guide business decisions and actions that increase revenue, save cost, improve customer experience & retention, and create efficiencies in how Purolator operates to deliver on customer promise. Our business is dynamic and requires someone who can connect the dots and expand their analytic skills across multiple lines of business. The Enterprise Analyst will participate in corporate analysis including but not limited to ecommerce, marketing, sales, retail, operations, HR, finance, and customer care.

Key Areas of Responsibility:


Analytics

  • Oversee large, complex, undefined problems and manage projects from inception and scoping through to implementation and presentation to internal clients.
  • Apply critical thinking and agile/ lean approach to solving problems, considering the broader picture to uncover new opportunities.
  • You will define and structure the problem using a data-driven approach and engage with cross-functional partners as needed to deliver results.
  • Apply creative thinking to overcome limitations in data availability and data quality.
  • Utilize creative thinking and apply mathematical, financial, and geospatial methods in the design/development of new analysis.

 

Reporting

  • Identify emerging risk issues/trends and assess/recommend opportunities.
  • Create and present powerful reports and visualizations that measure the success of our business and provide actionable insights into how/where we can improve.
  • Evaluate trends in the data including but not limited to customer response, outreach & retention/acquisition, operational business processes/performance/scanning compliance, and operational staffing/capacity.
  • Investigate root cause factors for customer fatigue, dissatisfaction, product de-activations, and package processing & delivery bottlenecks.
  • Contribute to the data governance strategy through your support of the integrity of data, including but not limited to customer, product, service, and pricing information to ensure accuracy and consistency.

 

Consulting & Relationship Management

  • Utilize critical thinking to define and recommend data inputs, scope, and analytic approach in partnership with management, peers, and internal clients across lines of business.
  • Become familiar with Purolator and competitor products and external market/industry data to understand how it can be used to address business questions and guide recommendations.
  • Conduct meetings and presentations to share information, findings/insights, recommendations, and provide the data/storyline to back it up with compelling narrative.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or augment data structures.
  • Work with Business Intelligence & IT teams to provide requirements/feedback for analysis tools and reporting that will make analysis efficient and visually impactful.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary education in business-related discipline including management engineering, data management, commerce, economics and/ or computer science.
  • 5+ years related experience in conducting analysis and influencing stakeholders in a business environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency mining and processing large-scale relational databases.
  • Experience with scripting/coding for data processing, exploration, and analysis.
  • Business Intelligence reporting tools including Power BI, Qlik Sense/QlikView, Tableau, and geo-mapping software.
  • Working knowledge of Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Statistical modeling software experience with Python an asset.
  • MBA or industry accreditation considered an asset.
