Description

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Analyst's role is to provide financial support with the preparation of plan and forecast. This role will be supporting all planning/forecasting activities along with monthly/quarterly forecast analysis. This role will collaborate with cross functional team to collect all planning/forecasting material and assist with internal and board presentations.

Responsibilities

Planning

  • Support with the preparation of annual operating budgets for all functional areas
  • Work with the functional leaders in establishing the budgets and forecast while highlighting any risks or opportunities to their financial budgets.
  • Assist with the analysis and identifying opportunities in closing the gap between the business performance and strategic objectives. 
  • Own Rolling/quarterly forecasts (P3, P7 etc) to set baseline for the following year’s budget.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly internal and board presentations.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

Analysis

  • Deliver insightful monthly financial analysis on business performance, highlighting key drivers.
  • Liase with internal teams in understanding monthly, quarterly, and annual results in detail by identifying trends and anomalies.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for monthly Executive presentations, Canada Post and Audit Committee presentations.
  • Generate monthly reporting for the company to be reported on the MBR.
  • Develop clear, concise visual dashboards and reports that communicate complex financial data in a user-friendly manner for non-finance professionals.
  • Partner with departments to understand their financial needs and tailor reporting solutions that enhance their operational decision-making

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, CPA
  • Minimum of 5 year financial planning/analysis experience in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint), knowledge of SAP (Oracle) is an asset
  • Ability to think strategically and systematically with strong critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to prepare and present financial information in written and verbal format to non-finance individuals.
  • Thrive in a challenging environment with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple requests/responsibilities
