Description

The Financial Analyst II, BP Network Operations, will be supporting functional budgeting /forecasting activities along with the month end reporting and analysis, and other ad-hoc management reporting. This role will partner with assigned Operations business functions to provide financial support and insights and assist with the execution of operational and financial plans.

Responsibilities

Analysis

Performs and delivers monthly and YTD analysis on forecast/plan variances.

Provides financial expertise and analysis to support monthly results.

Tracks performance against budget, prior year and forecast. Identifies variances to actual results.

Understands expense drivers, supports problem solving and develops recommendations.

Generates analytics on performance, identifying problems, and initiating process improvement suggestions.

Provides financial and business-related analysis to assess the impact of projects and initiatives.

Performs advance analytics (scenario modelling, profitability analysis) to assist with strategic decision support and financial performance improvements.

 

Budgeting/forecasting

Prepares the annual operating budgets, rolling forecasts, and related presentations for assigned Operations functions.

Works with the business functions in establishing and implementing the budgets and forecasts, while highlighting any risks/opportunities to their financial plans.

 

Reporting

Prepares weekly/monthly financial metrics, KPIs, scorecards (expense, volume, productivity).

Compiles month-end financial results, materials for functional MBRs, business cases, planning sessions.

Other ad-hoc management reporting as required.

 

Business Partnering

Provides dedicated decision support to assigned Operations business functions.

Assists with business cases, capital investments and AIM forms.

Supports the development and communication of financial insights to drive performance improvements and value creation.

 

Provides financial data and insights to assist management to develop action plans to improve profitability.

 

Partners with all areas of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, achievement of

planning/budgeting/forecasting timelines.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong analytical abilities to ensure financial information is reported and presented accurately

Storytelling, communication skills: ability to prepare and present financial information in written and verbal format to non-financial audiences

Collaboration and cross-teaming with ability to take initiative

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, to interact, foster and maintain relationships at all levels of the organization

Self-motivated and ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s or College Degree in Accounting, Finance or Accounting designation preferred

3+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Planning & Analysis

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint)

Experience with S/4HANA and Power BI is a plus
