Job Title/Role: UI/UX Designer

The UI/UX Designer will be working on browser enabled applications that provides options for receivers to have more visibility and control of their deliveries. You will help us deliver an outstanding user experience by providing an exceptional and intuitive design, which makes your role extremely important for our success and ensuring stakeholders & business owner’s satisfaction.



Core Responsibilities/Job Duties:


  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, product owners, business partners, developers, and data architects to collect, understand and evaluate business and functional user requirements.
  • Create high-level customer journey maps for different customer personna’s to outline the different shipping experiences & create story maps.
  • Create high-level story maps for different customer personna’s & lead the ideation and experience design of digital shipping channel
  • Conduct usability testing to validate proposed design solutions with stakeholders and end users.
  • Prepare user flows, design architectures and wireframes
  • Maintain our Design System – a repository of design artefacts to be used throughout the development including colours, fonts, sizing, etc. so we are aligned with Purolator branding
  • Present and review designs with developers, product managers, and key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate design walkthroughs/brainstorming and work feedback sessions with stakeholders and partners through the use of design thinking, collaboration techniques, interactive prototypes, wireframing of user flows and visual mock-ups.
  • Participate in the creation of a strong design foundation and be the voice for trends, practices and overall design quality within the team.



Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:



  • 4+ years UI/UX designer experience with proven track record. Experience with customer facing products.
  • Masters or bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, HCI (human computer interaction), Design or related fields; OR 4-6 years of experience in designing digital online products.
  • Mastery of Sketch and/or Adobe Creative Suite, along with proficiency in prototyping software (Invision, Axure,, etc.). Confluence and JIRA is a plus.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, Javascript is a plus.
  • Ability to plot and map a user journey from product discovery through enrollment, down multiple engagement routes and through to journey completion.
  • A demonstrable history of applying design thinking tenants and user centered design principles to challenges at work or in everyday life.
  • Proven experience bringing digital products to life.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a diversity of experience that encompasses UX expertise, interaction design, creativity and critical thinking.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and quickly iterating your way to a well, thought-out solution.
  • Able to adapt approach and process to fit project goals, timelines and other parameters.
  • Demonstrate ability to work as part of a collaborative multiple cross-discipline team in an agile environment.
  • Strong ability to synthesize research observations into actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design practices with a desire to understand the end user.
  • Solid understanding of front-end development and are comfortable talking to developers about the details of style sheets and CSS implementation.
