Job Description

Reporting to the Internal Audit Director, this position is involved with delivering a wide variety of internal auditengagements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly involved in the planning and executing the internal audit plan and special projects.
  • Developing recommendations and roadmaps for transforming and improving governance, internal control,organizational structures, risk management processes, and compliance programs.
  • Supporting the annual ICFR audit.
  • Supporting internal audit quality assessments.
  • Participating in the delivery of Enterprise Risk Management and related projects.
  • Provide senior management (and ultimately the Audit Committee) with assurance that the organization'sfinancial and operational controls are functioning effectively.
  • Provide recommendations on how management should best address identified deficiencies.
  • Ensure management actions to address identified deficiencies are appropriate and undertaken withincommitted timelines.
  • Provide advice and counsel to internal clients on risk management and controls.

 

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate business degree (Accounting, Finance or Commerce)
  • Professional Accounting Designation an asset – CPA, CA, CIA
  • Minimum 5 years progressive experience in Internal Audit
  • Proven skill, in, and extensive knowledge of, internal audit and information systems and related controls.
  • Experience working in a multi-location environment.
  • Broad knowledge and experience working with computer software systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, and able to summarize audit results in clear, understandable language.
  • Exceptional personal integrity and ethics.
  • Strong personal motivation and enthusiasm, interest in and commitment to making a difference in theorganization.
  • Effective listening and analytical ability.
  • Strong problem solving skills, including creativity and innovative thinking, combined with willingness tochallenge the status quo.
