Job Description

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager(s), this position is involved with delivering a wide variety of internal audit engagements.

 

The Senior Auditor participates in and frequently serves as the team lead for a variety of audit projects, which include ICFR (Internal Control over Financial Reporting) controls testing, internal audit and advisory projects, internal investigations, and other projects. The Senior Auditor is responsible for evaluating the design of controls and testing the operating effectiveness of controls during internal audit, compliance, and ICFR projects.

 

Responsibilities

· Perform identification of key business risks and develop a risk-based audit plan.

· Develop audit work programs and prepare work papers that support observations and document work performed.

· Identify opportunities for improvements in processes and internal controls and discuss improvement opportunities with process owners.

· Draft written descriptions of issues that are clear and concise that can be included in audit reports and in reports to the Board of Directors.

· Present findings to Internal Audit Managers and Process Owners.

· Directly support outside firms performing advisory/consulting engagements and financial audits.

· Monitoring and testing the implementation of management action plans.

· Perform data analysis, evaluate results, and draw conclusions on the results in support of Internal Audits.

· Work independently with limited direction and guidance, and effectively coordinate project activities with other team members.

· Participate in driving the long-term strategy for Internal Audit with innovative, creative thinking and willingness to push the boundaries of a traditional audit approach, such as the use of data analytics and automation.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

 

· Undergraduate business degree (Finance or Accounting major preferred)

· Professional Designation– CPA, CIA, CISA or demonstrated progress towards a professional certification is preferred.

· In depth knowledge of audit methodologies, governance, controls, standards and best practices gained through a minimum of 3 years of experience in auditing roles (internal or external) and/or risk management.

· Ability to apply experience, critical thinking skills, and internal control concepts to evaluate processes and identify risks.

· Knowledge of enabling technologies and digital transformation initiatives, including agile methodology and data analytics is preferred.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, including the ability to conduct effective interviews.

· Interact and communicate effectively with management, team members, and other personnel throughout the organization.

· Demonstrate maturity, poise, self-confidence, and tact while in contact with other employees in the company.

· Exceptional personal integrity and strong values

· Strong personal motivation and enthusiasm, interest in and commitment to making a difference in the organization

· Must embrace a “team” concept and work effectively with audit management and others on all assignments.
