Job Description

A key member of the Strategy Execution Team (EPMO), the Investment Planning Manager provides planning process support, investment tracking, analysis, reporting, process governance, and coaching in support of the Strategic Roadmap process and Investment portfolio.  

 

The key responsibilities are:

  • Assist EPMO in the definition, evolution and overall process coordination of the Strategic Roadmap process (key element of the Enterprise Planning Process)
  • Support the 3 year Strategic Roadmap process – develop tracking tools, analysis, and reporting
  • Maintain / evolve an Investment tracking & reporting tool; migrate appropriate functionality to ServiceNow
  • Evolve functionality the Investment Tracker as required (ie provide 12 – 18 month “rolling” view of Investment)
  • Monthly tracking of Investment projects, and their progress, from approval to execution with close focus on quarterly and year-end closes
  • Coordinate and consolidate submissions from multiple data sources in support of both the Strategic Roadmap tracker and the Investment Tracker
  • Prepare standard dashboards and reports, ad-hoc reports and analysis in a timely manner – leverage Power BI to consolidate data from appropriate sources (Excel trackers, ServiceNow etc) to support analysis and reporting (dashboards)
  • Maintain actuals in the Investment Tracker (monthly update) and work with project owners and portfolio managers to update project forecasts
  • Reporting – support MBR; Portfolio Summaries; Run The Business Pools
  • Governance support for Investment Proposals – Investment summaries, AIM process coaching for finance function support and  project leads – approach, template, training / coaching
  • Support Cost Plans - define process, templates and provide coaching to PM’s
  • Intake / Pool process support
  • Establish a benefits tracking governance process and project post audit process – work with functional finance teams to implement
  • Project Manager coaching and support
  • Seek opportunities to evolve documentation, forms, reporting and processes with the intent of increasing insight and/or streamlining tasks and processes
     
    Desired Skills and Experience
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a medium to large size company
  • Experience in Strategic Planning execution processes
  • Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deliverables in a timely manner
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Powerpoint), knowledge of SAP is an asset
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to comfortably interact with all levels within the organization to achieve desired results
  • Ability to prepare and present financial information in written and verbal format to non-financial individuals
  • Ability to take initiative, be a self-starter and provide value added support
  • Knowledge of the courier industry would be an asset
