Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Sustainability, the Manager, Sustainability is responsible for the creation and execution of innovative corporate strategies that support Purolator’s 2030 Sustainability goals and ambition to be the greenest courier in Canada. The incumbent will develop, implement, and manage projects in strategic areas including renewable energy procurement, waste diversion, energy efficiency, public reporting, GHG emissions reporting, fleet electrification, responsible sourcing and/or packaging. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, test and implement new green products and services, and support marketing, communications and/or sales strategies. 


Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide oversight on select sustainability projects in support of Purolator’s 2030 goals and ambition to be the greenest courier in Canada
  • Act as an expert on Corporate Sustainability when collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and establish sustainability goals and strategies, provide reporting on related KPIs, and lead annual budget creation for select projects
  • Report regularly on the progress of managed Sustainability projects
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support execution of programs
  • Support project teams on the implementation of projects, including the development and/or review of technical requirements, SOWs and contracts
  • Conduct training and education on Sustainability topics and initiatives
  • Represent Purolator on industry committees and working groups related to Sustainability
  • Remain current on Sustainability trends and best practices



  • University Degree preferably at a Masters Level – Sustainability Management, Environmental Engineering/Science, Environment & Business, Circular Economy
  • Specialized training and/or experience in Corporate Sustainability
  • Deep knowledge of ESG issues, including GHG emissions reduction strategies and measurement, and policy and program development
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in delivering Sustainability solutions and programs
  • Detailed understanding of environmental impacts in the supply chain (GHG emissions, waste, packaging, etc.)
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in developing and executing corporate environmental sustainability programs and initiatives
  • Confidence to work independently and autonomously, self-driven
  • Collaborative, builds trusting relationships
  • Proven ability to lead teams and maximize their capabilities
  • Influencer with strong analytical skills, detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organization skills, time management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities
