Job Description

With an eye for design and passion for writing compelling digital copy, the Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will play an integral role as part of the Marketing Communications and Content team. This role will work closely with the Digital Marketing Consultant while reporting to the Manager of Marketing Communications and Content. This new role will support and participate in the development of digital marketing campaigns/ initiatives and content creation, from strategy to execution and reporting.


The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will support a variety of marketing needs and will work cross-functionally and in collaboration with various stakeholders including: Corporate Communications, Marketing Operations, SMB (small-medium business) Marketing and Web Solutions Teams to provide exceptional digital marketing collateral in support of Purolator’s B2B and B2C marketing initiatives. This role is perfect for someone who is energetic, creative, and open to learning. The Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist will:

  • Participate in content planning and update meetings with various stakeholders and support the development and distribution of various content.
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Consultant on developing and implementing the content and social media strategy.
  • Liaise with the creative agency to develop, edit and review content that focuses on driving leads, promoting brand and optimizing for SEO. Content includes ebooks, white paper, videos, articles, case studies, etc.
  • Maintain the editorial calendar and seek approvals on content in the development pipeline, including execution on distribution strategy across different channels such as internal sales communications, uploads to sales enablement platform, etc.
  • Develop and distribute organic social media posts to amplify our voice, enhance our reach and drive positive sentiment in the SMB community by leveraging our social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn. This includes scheduling, writing, approvals, posting and reporting.
  • Participate in weekly website governance meetings and contribute to the development of website copy and SEO updates on and the Resource Centre.
  • Perform keyword research and analysis and competitive reviews.
  • Contribute to lead generation strategy planning and reporting meetings. Bring creative ideas to support and elevate future strategies and support the development of ad copy (Google, LinkedIn and Facebook).
  • Lead the content submissions and approvals for our quarterly newsletter. Ensure proper tracking elements are used and reporting documents are updated.
  • Maintain knowledge of content experience best practices and trends and consumer trends to provide recommendations for future opportunities.
  • Identify relevant or timely content opportunities by keeping up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, product knowledge, and customer feedback.
  • Other adhoc duties as assigned.


Bonus Skills:

  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat & PhotoShop, Sprout Social, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Bright Edge, Google Ads, Asana and WordPress.
  • Understanding and knowledge of how to create marketing funnels.
  • Ability to interpret Google Analytics data to help create future content and lead generation strategies.


You Will be Successful in this Role If You Have:

  • 1-2 years experience in content development and management, copywriting, professional writing or equivalent experience preferably in B2B, B2C marketing environment.
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in marketing, digital marketing or another relevant field.
  • Experience writing persuasive, engaging copy across a variety of channels and mediums.
  • Knowledge of best practices in website copy writing and UX.
  • You're resourceful and self-motivated.
  • Data driven with an analytical mindset. Your decisions are based on data, not assumptions.
  • Strong organizational, time-management and project management skills.
