Job Description



Reporting to the Director of Loss Prevention, the National Manager, claims position will lead the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Claims Program and management processes. The position will provide oversight, strategic guidance, and operational support to Clams elements such as leadership (i.e. goal setting), risk management, communication planning, information management, training, and competence, claims investigation, and program monitoring and assessment.  


The National Manager- Claims will: 


  • Manage and develop team, Develop/manage team KPIs
  • Create and develop claim metrics, Develop a claim mitigation strategy
  • Liaise with external customers and support contract/RFP
  • Review findings of complex claims investigations and weigh against T&C to determine the eligibility of payout
  • Review claim trends to identify problem customers and work with various teams to mitigate risk
  • The role will have DOA as it relates to high-value claims payout and will need to work with various internal stakeholders (sales/legal) in making decisions that can impact continued business with customers. 
  • Continuously develop reporting and different tools to monitor the trend to mitigate risk. This would include claim trends within industry verticals or with specific customers that harm claims payouts
  • Manage claim pay-outs for all operations lines of business in the US and Canada with the help of their team
  • Be the subject matter expert for claims management. 
  • This role will work with various stakeholders to review and recommend changes to existing procedures and policies. 
  • The role will also build and manage various KPIs to mitigate dollar loss through effective claims investigations, implement various mitigation strategies, and partner with various stakeholders, both internal and external to decrease loss while increasing customer satisfaction.
  • Internal Stakeholders include – sales, operations, legal, loss prevention, contract team, sr management, executive team
  • External Stakeholders include – customers and insurance companies.


To be successful, you should have:

  • 7-10 years, with 5+ years of that in a management position in claims management with proven senior level, progressive experience preferably with leadership experience
  • The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in guiding a team of claims professionals 
  • The ability to lead and manage a positive work environment. You’ll need to be able to lead and coach your team to adapt to change, while also thinking critically and creatively to find answers to problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, delegate, and manage performance.
