Description

You will be responsible for leading the sales development and execution of our North America logistics products within the Canadian market. This role focuses on business development in both independent and joint‑selling environments, targeting high‑volume, high‑value accounts. You’ll work closely with customers to design tailored logistics solutions that strengthen and streamline their North American supply chains. You will also develop and carry out strategies that support the International Design Team’s revenue goals for business that originates or concludes in Canada.

 

This is a customer‑facing role which requires up to 25% travel, including travel to Quebec. The role follows a hybrid schedule, with time spent in the office as well as onsite with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure attainment of individually assigned revenue and profit goals by working closely with other PCL/CPC companies.
  • Conducts joint calls with sales team to determine opportunities within existing and new accounts and sell “full” solutions.
  • Work directly with prospects / targets and converting opportunities to profitable business; coordinating sales activities/lead programs with CDN/US counterparts.
  • Utilize process mapping to identify gaps and opportunities for supply chain improvements and develop customer proposals/presentations tailored to these needs.
  • Develop and maintain account intelligence system that records, stores, and reports on all sales activities, account information, industry information, competitive information, and any other information deemed necessary by management.
  • Develop and implement a sales work plan and schedule that ensures minimum attainment of all required sales activities such as; sales calls, service calls, proposals, presentations, customer tours, etc.
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding customer issues, pricing, and solutions development.
  • Support and implement all Purolator sales directives and provide feedback through appropriate channels.
  • Arrange and manage transportation for shipments globally.
  • Develop prospects, targets, and close business. Customer management upon securing of business will be executed by the sales professional, NAE or Account executive.

 

Additional Responsibilities

Identify opportunities to enhance existing services or introduce new ones that add value for our customers while supporting the organization’s broader goals to strengthen freight performance.

 

Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years cross border sales experience with a global forwarder that includes courier, logistics, transportation, warehousing, sales, and distribution experience
  • Minimum five (5) years working experience with related operations, cross-functional, project management experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office products including Power Point, MS Project & Visio flow charting tools, TMS/WMS
  • Extensive experience in domestic and international forwarding services and LTL
  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain Logistics services for North America and Rest of World
  • Knowledge of Canadian and US geography
  • North America travel required (25%) including Quebec
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership.
  • Strong record of client and customer service
  • Familiarity with financial analysis, statistical modeling and personal computer software
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of Canada Customs and US Customs Regulations an asset
  • French fluency is highly valued for this position and will be considered a significant asset
