Job Description

The Lead for Management Process Engineering will be responsible for providing strong leadership to drive sustainable solutions to achieve processes and practices excellence in across hub and terminal management levels. This lead role, reporting to the Director, Process and Performance Excellence is a highly visible position contributing to the company’s direction and positioning. This role will also lead the development of management standards, quality assurance, process improvements and change management impacting field managers


Job Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the Engineering Team with a focus on operational excellence, customer service, continuous improvement, safe operations, collaboration and teamwork;
  • Lead initiatives and projects with cross-functional teams;
  • Lead Process Improvement Initiatives in the area of management process and practices;
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance Customer experience, visibility and efficiency.
  • Increase the overall efficiency and reliability of Business Processes and Systems
  • Experience with stakeholder management, conducting process workshops with business partners to clarify business issues and understanding underlying drivers
  • Manage, business planning and budgeting process for engineering projects;
  • Develop people and processes and also ensure that all projects are completed on time to the highest standards of both quality and customer satisfaction;
  • Providing subject matter expertise to Project Engineers and Project Managers;
  • Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects;
  • Responsible for managing and meeting performance targets and initiatives;
  • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures as required;
  • Establishing and maintaining a mentoring relationship with team members to support growth and retention;
  • Conducting career development and performance reviews for team members, providing ongoing support and accountability for achievement;
  • Performing other related duties as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Process Engineering, Business Administration, or related field of study or any equivalent combination of experience and skills.
  • Working experience with Business Process Management (BPM)
  • Working knowledge of project planning and project management, with the expectation of developing a thorough knowledge within the first 12 months on the post.
  • Working experience with operations management in the Courier industry or related field as asset.
  • Strong business writing skills, including the ability to select the most appropriate method of communication and to clearly and concisely prepare a variety of business communications, eg. Business Requirements Documents, Functional Specifications, and project implementation / strategy documents.
  • Five (5) plus years of leadership experience;
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project and engineering teams;
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Concepts in a process engineering or business related function
  • Possess strong leadership skills and behaviors with an emphasis on efficiency and quality of work;
  • Exceptional communication and problem solving skills
  • The ability to develop, motivate and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders;
