Reporting to the Manager Process Engineering – First & Last Mile the Process the Engineering Specialist I role is responsible for administrative duties related to systems supporting sort automation.

 

  • Create and update spatial layers using ArcGIS online
  • Develop business processes for support and administration activities
  • Govern updates to production database
  • Support operations with sort automation related activities

Responsibilities

  • Creating maps, reports, and other visual representations of spatial data using GIS software
  • Maintaining and administering GIS software, databases, and other technical platforms
  • Providing technical support to users of GIS systems and software
  • Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of spatial data within the GIS database
  • May be involved in the planning, implementation, and management of GIS projects
  • Working with other professionals and teams to integrate geospatial data into workflows and projects
  • Responding to user requests for information and mapping solutions
  • Troubleshooting GIS software and hardware issues
  • Developing and implementing GIS standards and procedures

Job Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in transportation industry

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics

Skill

  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or others.
  • Strong understanding of spatial data management principles and techniques.
  • Experience with database management systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with programming languages like Python or SQL
