Job Description

The Operations Systems Deployment Specialist main responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the establishment of Operations Deployment Team for all Regional/Divisional/Terminal and Local projects.
  • Manage and coordinate the establishment of Operations deployment team representatives and support groups that will help ensure the success of the deployment of the project to Operations.

 

Detailed Job Description:

For each new project, the Operations Systems Deployment Specialist will:

  • Define the roles and responsibilities of the Operations project integrators, in coordination with the Deployment Lead or Project manager.
  • Coordinate with the Operational Directors/Managers to find the suitable Operations representative to be the Operations project integrator.
  • Train, coach and mentor the assigned Operations project integrator/s
  • Act as part of the project team and advocate for Operations within the project, identifying potential risks and escalating issues when gaps are identified.
  • Act as the liaison to Operations throughout the project by engaging and connecting the right people at the right time.
  • Work with the Project Manager to execute on deliverables assigned in order to complete the project scope on-time and within budget.

 

For projects ready for deployment, the Operations Systems Deployment Specialist will:

  • Manage all the activities leading to the success of the deployment
  • Establish the Operations deployment team represented by Operations representatives and Operations support teams.
  • Lead and coordinate the pilot testing activities
  • Ensure the success of the deployment by preparing the Operational environment, such as:
  • Organize the training activities (Training participants, Training schedule, Training Methods)
  • Ensure all Processes are documentation and signed off by all Stakeholders
  • Equipment preparation including maintenance process (Equipment inventory and installation activities)
  • Establish the performance measures (Process and Equipment performance)
  • Ensure all physical preparations are completed on time (i.e., Network installation, workplace set-up, etc)
  • Spare parts and consumable preparation
  • Conduct a Lessons Learned exercise for continuous improvement on the Integration and Deployment processes to the project team and project manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent in experience
  • Environmental, Health and Safety legislation awareness
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience in a high availability Supply Chain (Transportation/Network/logistic)
  • Lean/Six Sigma training (Green Belt is preferred)
  • Project management Skills (PMP designation is preferred)
  • Strong Leadership, project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Ability to work with a high degree of detail and accuracy constantly meeting deadlines.
  • Problem solver and strategic thinker with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Knowledge in SAP applications (i.e., Mobile devices, SAP TM, SAP ERP, SAP BI, Event Manager)
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to establish work goals, objectives and standards to be achieved by project team
  • Proven success acting as the integrator between the business and project teams
  • Strong project deployment experience to front line employees
  • Experience in a Unionized environment would be an asset
