Job Description

Product Analyst


Reporting to the Manager, Product Management, the Product Analyst will play a critical role in the expansion of our business and revenue growth strategy in Canada, with focus on driving insights across our lines of business, working in close partnership with each of the Product Managers.


Product Analyst Core Responsibilities:


  • Utilize data mining tools, techniques and data sources to generate business analytics to help explain performance, support business cases and identify growth opportunities to drive growth, working closely with the Product Manager for each portfolio.
  • Perform deep dives using internal data and external market data / research to support Product initiatives and business cases
  • Work with Product Managers and Finance to create forecasts and plans for each product line.


Product Manager Job Duties:


  • Become the subject matter expert and owner for all internal & external data and develop a very strong understanding of the products and market needs to provide insights related to performance, trends & market behaviors.
  • Support weekly & monthly reporting for Product Managers & business stakeholders.
  • Work with Product Managers to create or update frameworks for MBRs, QBRs, etc.
  • Perform market research and data gathering.
  • Deep dive into products and / or segments to answer key business questions.
  • Statistical modeling & forecasting for new product business cases
  • Forecasting performance for existing products & insights to help change the direction as required



  • Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline, mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science or software engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years business experience in an analyst role
  • Creative thinker with the ability to provide tangible insights
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment, lead and manage several initiatives simultaneously, strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent presentation skills in multiple formats
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • In-depth knowledge of data mining and analytical techniques and tools including visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView)
  • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases
  • Product analyst & transportation / supply chain industry experience would be an asset
