Reporting to the Manager, Product Management, the Product Manager, Retail & E-Commerce will play a critical role in the expansion of our business and revenue growth strategy in Canada, with focus on product development.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the Retail & E-Commerce vertical, working closely with stakeholders within the organization as well as key customers to manage existing services as well as developing new and innovative solutions.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop products by identifying potential opportunities & creating business cases
  • Conduct market research & generate product requirements
  • Build the bridge between our customers and development team by creating and communicating product requirements for new product development
  • Act as a subject matter expert and service portfolio owner, developing a very strong understanding of products & market needs
  • Work with and lead cross-functional teams to determine specifications, product roadmaps, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction
  • Establish and execute product and marketing strategies
  • Perform data analyses to capture and synthesize data for root cause analysis and product strategy performance
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product changes
  • Create competitive analysis and market share assessments, coupled with monthly and quarterly business reviews
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs, preparing return-on-investment analyses
  • Collaborate on innovative solutions and clarify the desired outcome to help increase the overall customer experience
  • Perform product post-launch assessments and create plan to gather learnings and implement enhancements as required
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive decisions, features & design, while demonstrating an ability to develop & deliver recommendations in ambiguous situations

 

 Qualifications

  • University degree in business, marketing, finance/economics, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years business experience in a product management or marketing environment
  • Strong knowledge or experience in retail / e-commerce sectors
  • Ability to dive into the technical details and are able to understand technical concepts
  • Demonstrated product/project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in leading / participating in a major business initiative
  • Experience with understanding the core problem, identity opportunities and successfully building business case for proposed solutions
  • Creative thinker with experience in different customer research methodologies and the ability to provide solutions that meet customer needs
  • Customer champion with design and user experience knowledge to continue a customer first culture in the organization
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment, lead and manage several projects simultaneously, strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent presentation skills in multiple formats
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Agile and Lean product development practices
  • Transportation / supply chain industry experience would be an asset
