Reporting to the Manager, Product Management, the Product Manager will play a critical role in the expansion of our business and revenue growth strategy in Canada, with focus on product development.
Core Responsibilities:
- Developing products by identifying potential opportunities & creating business cases
- Conducting market research & generating product requirements
- Working with and leading cross-functional team to determine specifications, product roadmaps, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction
- Establishing & executing product and marketing strategies
Job Duties:
- Act as a subject matter expert and service portfolio owner, developing a very strong understanding of products & market needs
- Lead efforts and cross-functional teams in developing product strategy and executing launch products
- Perform data analyses to capture and synthesize data for root cause analysis and product strategy performance
- Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes
- Create competitive analysis and market share assessments, coupled with monthly and quarterly business reviews
- Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses
- Perform product post-launch assessments and create plan to gather learnings and implement enhancements as required
- Leverage data and analytics to drive decisions, features & design, while demonstrating an ability to develop & deliver recommendations in ambiguous situations
Qualifications
- University degree in business, marketing, finance/economics, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years business experience in a product management or marketing environment
- Demonstrated product/ project management experience
- Demonstrated experience in leading / participating in a major business initiative
- Knowledge or experience in industrial, automotive and/or technology sectors
- Creative thinker with the ability to provide solutions that meet customer needs
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to excel in a dynamic environment, lead and manage several projects simultaneously, strong time management and prioritization skills
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent presentation skills in multiple formats
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Agile and Lean product development practices
- Transportation / supply chain industry experience would be an asset
