Project Manager – HR Modernization
(12 Month Contract)

Description

 

Reporting into the Director HR Shared Services, the Project Manager – HR Modernization will be part of a team responsible for leading the HR Modernization program which will fundamentally change the way that HR interacts with and supports the business.  This role has the primary responsibility to lead project teams and stakeholders across Human Resources. It will support the development of a project charter, project plan, schedule, and cost plan, and will present reports defining project progress, problems, risks, solutions and successes. 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Follow Purolator Project/Program Management methodology, governance, and develop supporting artifacts to support project execution.
  • Combine technology, people and process plans related to HR Modernization program into one unified project plan.                                                                                                                                            
  • Manage project from current stage through to completion and stabilization.
  • Work closely with project sponsor and HR leadership to develop project charter, define project goals, manage cost and resource plan, schedule and scope creep.
  • Schedule resources and drive accountability to ensure project is progressing efficiently.
  • Track time and expenses to projects, and effectively allocate staff and resources,
  • Identify, analyze, and manage project risks, being proactive in achieving mitigation strategies and actions.
  • Assist in developing recovery strategies when the project schedule or budget are in jeopardy.
  • Complete and communicate regular project status reports to program leads and raise decisions/approvals/issues through applicable forums in a timely manner to ensure project success.
  • Proactively manage key stakeholders ensuring timely and regular engagement
  • Track and set up deliverable/scorecard process: sign-off, documentation.
  • Partner with Change Management Lead to support change management activities for all aspects of the program.
  • Manage and complete post-implementation review, ensuring lessons learned are documented.

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

  • University degree in Computer Science, Business, Human Resources, Mathematics or related discipline
  • Experience in leading at least 1 large cross functional Human Resources project (HCM and/ or HR Operating Model projects an asset) using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid models.
  • Practical experience with people, process, and technology change implementations
  • Vendor management experience                
  • Effectively engage, lead and influence cross functional teams to build integrated schedules and deliver within committed timeline and scope.
  • 5+ years within project/program/portfolio management areas, specific but not limited to: Reporting for C level and Board members, Dashboards at program and function level, hands on experience on project artifacts, framework, and different types of projects
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with project & portfolio management tools, ServiceNow (PPM) experience preferred
  • PMP certified and well versed with PMBOK processes – portfolio governance; opportunity assessment and initiation; performance management; resource management 
  • Strong project governance, project stage gating, project audit knowledge and experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Cost planning and templates involved for capturing, maintaining and reporting project financials (budget)
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project
  • Outstanding interpersonal, influencing and communication skills to build strong relationships, gain credibility and network effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Past experience in projects with Web services, OKTA integration, SharePoint & CMS would be considered an asset.
