Job Description
Sales Manager – Industrial Vertical
Ensure the growth, retention and yield of accounts in accordance with the corporate strategies through process management, financial management and people management of all Industrial Sales Executives and/or Account Executives within the Industrial Vertical.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate employee performance against established objectives within the Industrial marketspace
- Provide direction, leadership, and coaching to team
- Monitor performance, engagement and enablement within teams
- Execute key activities in the employee lifecycle to direct reports (Including employee recruitment, promotion and termination activities etc.)
- Provide employees with Sales tools and training needed within their role
- Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Review the KPI’s and performance of the region employees in accordance with the forecast, in terms of activity based management and lead measurements
- Identify business challenges and performance metric shortfall ensure appropriate action plans are introduced, monitored and implemented
- Offer sales coaching and account management coaching to employees with territories and verticals
- Create vertical sales strategic plans in line with corporate objectives and marketplace objectives
- Collaborate with team to forecast marketplace events and trends with 1 to 2 year outlook
- Forecast annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals within the Industrial vertical
- Allocate accounts to sales representatives
- Set sales targets for individual reps and your team as a whole
- Manage relationship with key accounts within the region
- Manage any issues or discrepancies with client accounts that have been escalated.
- Lead opportunities for improvements within the team, utilizing lean principles and methodology
- Support team in building Industrial vertical knowledge and fluency
- Demonstrate industry knowledge in product development to enable future industrial growth
Education:
- Completed Post-Secondary Education
Experience:
- Minimum 6 years selling B2B and B2C via a solutions selling methodology
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience selling to Directors, VPs and C-level executives
- Experience managing a large portfolio in fortune 500, national and global accounts
- Minimum 2 years supervisory or management experience with accountability for driving sales through people
- Proven capability to self-manage, manage a team and achieve / exceed results
- Strong leader with business acumen, negotiation skills and ability to influence
Ideal Requirements:
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple deliverables
- Demonstrated use of sales methodology such as ART (Account Research Template) and Solution selling
- Ability to successful coach sales professionals to sell full suite of products at a premium and assist with value based solution selling
- Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of industry
- Excellent time management, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience selling to Directors, VPs and C-level executives within large base and medium base accounts
- Experience in leadership
- Experience managing a virtual team
