Job Description

 

 

Reporting to the Director Loss Prevention the Manager, Security Technology Solutions is responsible for developing and managing challenging risk based Security Solutions Program within an internal and external team environment for facilities and customer’s freight including video, access control, alarm systems, case management systems, fraud prevention tools and various shipment tracking systems.

Working effectively with security system providers and internal customers to optimize existing security systems, integrating various platforms, preparing and presenting business cases and work with new security systems with a long-term strategic view.

Managing in-house or contract technical resources, projects, budget and schedule within company policy; review proposals and quotes, revise plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements and consistently deliver high-quality services

 

Duties will include:

  • Development of a risk based overall security systems integration strategy and deliver a cost effective implementation plan
  • Manage fraud prevention tool to monitor and mitigate credit card fraud
  • Provide a long term capital plan that can be used for company planning purposes and prioritize capital security projects based on set criteria and obtain best value for funding
  • Develop and document strong understanding of company needs and plan to support company growth and operations
  • Work closely with internal customers including Security & Loss Prevention, Facilities, Information Services Technology, Operations, Sales and Procurement to develop physical standards and security solutions that support the shared efforts to protect our people, property and shipments from injury, loss or damage
  • Lead teams as required, conduct site surveys and provide technical direction and project management for the development, design, and systems integration of security technology from definition phase through implementation and maintenance phase.
  • Work effectively with security system providers and internal customers to optimize existing security systems, integrating various platforms, preparing and presenting business cases and work with new security systems with a long-term strategic view.
  • As part of the Security Solutions Plan, establish processes to monitor the maturity of the security technology systems, creating synergies in a cost effective manner, and to integrate with other security protections and business systems including business continuity support.
  • Work closely with security and other colleagues with respect to ensuring security incident data available from security technology systems is collected, collated and analyzed for risk management purposes.           
  • Apply significant knowledge of security industry trends, developments, computer networks and IP solutions to improve service internally and externally as well as willingness to participate in professional development programs.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum College diploma or equivalent training, Microsoft Engineering certifications or relevant Security Manufacturers training.
  • A recognized industry qualification such as a certificate in electronics or a related security electronic technology degree or diploma would be a strong asset
  • Understanding of computer programming and networking skills, especially TCP/IP standards and computer network architecture is required.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years relevant experience designing, installing, repairing, training servicing or project management of major brands of security, fire, CCTV, Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Knowledge of security risk analysis, management theory and practical methods and techniques.
  • Understanding of Central Station systems would be an asset
  • Prior experience developing and implementing strategic plans and action plans to achieve goals and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks
  • Proven abiility to ttranslate the needs of the company and customers into solutions to make effective decisions
  • Knowledge of security risk analysis, management theory and practical methods and techniques.
  • Understanding of Legal, and Govt Certification Programs
  • Ability to teach and train others and to breakdown technical applications to simplifed tasks to other team mates
  • Excellent analytical and time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead.
  • Strong written reporting and verbal skills for one on one, group communications and presentation skills and the ability to direct/ communicate business needs to vendors.
  • Ability to travel nationally as required
