Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Marketing this role will act as a senior leader and be responsible for driving the overall communications strategy across all channels. This role will lead the marketing services team, with a total of 4 direct reports and 11 indirect reports. In addition, this role will have responsibility for the Marketing partnerships and sponsorship strategy


The Brand & Marketing Communications Manager will also have dotted line responsibilities to support and guide the Corporate Communications & Media Relations, Purolator International Communications and Retail Marketing Strategy. Play a key role in the planning process and management of the integrated communications calendar.  This includes working collaboratively with the product and segment strategy groups to establish the go to market strategy, and then leading the development, execution, tracking and assessment of our communications.


Job Responsibilities

  • Drive brand strategy, while engaging internal stakeholders and agencies to develop and execute communications across all channels.
  • Responsible for sponsorship/ partnership strategy and brand activation. The Senior Manager will work collaboratively with the Corporate Social Responsibility team for employee and community engagement and Corporate Communication for PR.
  • Review and recommend changes to all communications prior to taking to Director for final approval.
  • Oversee the work of the Marketing Services team, which includes:  marketing operations, marketing partnerships and brand and marketing communications.
  • Working closely with the Director, Marketing to ensure that the Marketing Services group has appropriate resources to serve the needs of the business.
  • Responsible for approval of the Integrated Communications brief and ensuring issues and/or opportunities from prior communication plans are addressed.
  • Working with agency partners on the development and execution of a brand plan that delivers to the brands’ goals, objectives, and strategies.
  • Responsible for managing the annual brand and marketing communications budget, including consultation with the strategy group to make appropriate budget recommendations for their area of responsibility.
  • The Senior Manager will play an integral role in the planning and management of the integrated communications calendar.
  • Work collaboratively with the product and segment strategy groups to establish the go to market strategy and leading the development, execution, tracking and assessment of our communications. This may include Brand advertising materials, product go to market support,, all direct customer communications, sales enablement, prospect nurturing and the retail channel.
  • Responsible for the Marketing Automation platform and execution of digital communications including email programs, paid and organic search.
  • Responsible for the content strategy and ongoing optimization of the corporate website.




Job Requirements/ Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred.
  • 10-15 years business experience in B2B & B2C industries and/or agency management
  • Operate at senior level, with little supervision from the Director, Marketing
  • Experience assessing project needs based on strategic objectives and ability to leverage the right partners/resources when required
  • Ability to develop or evolve business processes to help with the effective workflow of the marketing group
  • Strong digital marketing competency and experience managing corporate websites
  • Able to excel in a dynamic environment, lead and manage several projects simultaneously with strong project management skills from idea through to execution.
  • Experience evaluating creative and Marketing Operations.
  • Experience in managing corporate sponsorship partners.
  • Problem-solving skills to work through difficult challenges.
  • Strong communication skills to gain support and overcome resistance (Intermediate)
  • Ability to collaborate with partners, stakeholders and lead a cross-functional team to achieve goals and deliver results
  • Strong people management skills and experience leading a talented team
