Description

This role will act as the key contact for Sales and customers regarding GSC solutions, support sales in the closing of GSC business, assess customer GSC needs/requirements, and develop GSC solutions. The Specialist will coordinate Purolator resources and activities for specific distributions for GSC customers before, during, and after distribution. This role will also communicate with customers throughout various stages of distribution and make recommendations to Sales and GSC management regarding the viability of business opportunities. 

Responsibilities

  • Support inside sales in moving prospects to the lead stage by providing specialized GSC knowledge/expertise.
  • Drive revenue and profitability and work with the Pricing and Finance teams in the analysis of costs, margins, and revenues for these business opportunities.
  • Provide input/recommendation as to the viability of each GSC business opportunity.
  • Support field sales in moving customers from close to onboarding, including ensuring the set-up processes are followed, and an account number is set up and loaded on PSS/ESS.
  • Debrief all customer visits with Sales personnel to educate sales staff on assessing each opportunity as a GSC business fit and business opportunity.
  • Responsible for planning, estimating resources, developing processes, and managing project plan to execute and exceed customer expectations.
  • Coordinate with courier, freight, and linehaul operations to acquire resources and facilities and collaboratively deliver services.
  • Coordinate with the customer for receipt of the distribution file.
  • Plan distribution and induction based on various times in transit throughout the country.
  • Directly manage all aspects of service delivery with customers including data requirements, customer service, and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with the customer’s supplier and Transportation Company to monitor and report on the inbound arrival of containers/trailers (either linehaul or drayage).
  • Coordinate upload of distribution file to PSS/ESS to print labels for each distribution.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed summary reporting for each distribution including photographs and explanation of unusual circumstances (short, surplus pieces, arrival of damaged pieces).
  • Provide summary-level reporting of productivity, revenue, and service performance.Provide correct and up-to-date information to customer inquiries regarding rates, transit times, product matter expertise, special moves, procedures, etc. Qualifications • 1-3 years of progressive experience required. • Supply chain and logistics knowledge and technical skills (Courier/Logistics/Transportation/Warehousing/Sales/Distribution background). • Knowledge of Purolator operations and administrative processes. • Project management knowledge including familiarity with integration, scope, time management, cost quality, human resource, communications, risk, procurement. • Customer focus. • Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, Visio, ESS, PSS). • Financial analysis skills. • Innovation. • Presentation skills. • High emotional intelligence. • Problem-solving/Analysis. • Teamwork.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of progressive experience required.
  • Supply chain and logistics knowledge and technical skills (Courier/Logistics/Transportation/Warehousing/Sales/Distribution background).

  • Project management knowledge including familiarity with integration, scope, time management, cost quality, human resource, communications, risk, procurement.
